Chapter 19

Meg's POV

Sitting on the couch alone eating my fave mac&cheese while watching the 90's tv series Charmed. Yes I have I copy from the first season up to the end. These two are the stuffs that comfort me when I'm not okay.

It's 8 in the evening now and my sister Skylar is nowhere to be found. I've been trying to contact her but there's no reply. I tried our mind link and her cellular phone. But still, no reply.

It has been a week now since she started that thing with the Luna of our pact. She goes home late after school and most of the time passes out before she even gets to eat her dinner. She's so tired everyday that she also had forgotten that she have a sister who worries for her.

This is what upsets me most. It's okay if she gets tired with all the training she goes to or if she forgets to go to school. But this. This is outrageous. She no longer talks to me, no longer have time for me and worst I think she have forgotten all about me, her sister.

Then my phone rings. I excitedly searched for it on the couch thinking that it's my sister who sent me a message. But I got so frustrated and disappointed when I see Nate's name and not my sisters.

Since this morning I have kept him blocked out of my mind. I just need to be alone for awhile, to think. And since I found him, I have never had a peace of mind. Yes, literally because the only tine that he'll let me be is during his sleep.

I open his text to check what he has to say. 'You have been avoiding me. Are you trying to reject me?' His text really shows how he have been trying to contact me. And

actually this would be the hundred, I think, time that he have text and this is the only one I read.

His pain of not being able to be with me or even talk to me through our mind link should have gotten on to me. But I guess our connection is not yet as strong since we have not yet marked each other. Or this just means that our connection, Skylar's and mine, is greater than Nate's and mine.

I didn't replied to his text. Instead I opened our mind link and told him no and to just give me some space to breath. But I immediately turned blocked him again before he could even reply to my decision.

It has been an hour now since Nate had texted me, but I have not paid any attention to what I'm watching. My mind had drifted off to where my baby sister might be. Then I hear the front door opens.

I ran to the door not realizing how excited I am to see Sky. When I reached the door, I saw that it was half way open so I did not come any closer, just for their privacy. But then I heard her laugh and called Luna sofia mom. What? "Mom?"

When did she started calling the Luna mom? Why didn't she told me? I am so curious and so envious right now. So I decided to just leave and wait for her on the livingroom. And I will talk to her there.

A few minutes have passed until I heard her come in and the door closes. "Sky is that you." I called out to her as if I don't know yet who it is. "Yes, where you expecting someone else?" She ask me and entered the livingroom.

She got seated on the couch near me and asked what I was watching. I told her it's charmed the tv series and asked her if she have eaten. She answered my question with a yes that was followed with a yawn. She looks so tired and worn off.

"I think you should take some rest now. You've eaten right?" I just want her to stop for a while and be young again. Then she let out a smile.

"Yes. I really should go to bed. My body pain is killing me. And yes, I've eaten." She said standing up and stretching her arms.

"Okay. Goodnight."

"Goodnight to you too big sis."

I watched her walk out of the room towards the stairs going up to our rooms. When I heard her door closed shut, I let out a breath that I didn't realized I was holding. Tomorrow, I will talk to her; I said to myself.

The next day I woke up early. I cooked breakfast, toasted garlic bread and egg fried on butter. That's her favorite breakfast. To top it up, I have her OJ extra cold just how she like it.

My alarm when off signaling that I needed to go up stairs to her room before she wakes. Just right on time, I thought. I happily walked away from the dining table, my destination is Sky's room.

I had made plans for today. For us, so we could catch up with eachother. I just hope she wont argue with me and push to go to school 'cause I have asked for a day off of my work. And I could just call her school and tell them she's sick.

When I reached her room I opened her door allowing it to bang on the wall. This made her wake up startled and asking what's the problem. So I jumped on her bed and started tickling her until it satisfied me.

"What happened to you?" She ask while still catching her breath. "Nothing" I told her and got seated. Then I told her that she wont be going to school because I had made plans for us. Which she was not sure of, but then agreed when I told her that I will call her school and tell them some excuse.

She agreed that's why I'm so happy now. Because that means I have my sister all to my self. This time is the right time to talk to her and catch up on what is happening to her. So before I left her room I told her to close her mindlink from the whole pack. Which she hesitated, but obeyed after a few persuasion.

Our day started of with a big breakfast. We have not yet eaten breakfast together since we transferred so this time was so rewarding. After eating, I told her to get ready because we're going out.

And now, here we are at the mall around 9am shopping for new clothes. Then I remembered that Sky's birthday will be a month after today. So I decided to fish from her the gift she'd want for her birthday.

Sadly, she's too stubborn to gave in any hint. But I'm up for the challenge and maybe I'll just go ahead and surprise her. Yeah I know she wont ask for anything because can have all that she wanted with all the money our parents left her. But it's different when it's given as a gift. And I'll make sure to give her one.

"Hey! What are you thinking? Or are you talking to your mate? You know that would be so unfair to me right?" She goes all blurting out not letting me answer.

"First what I'm thinking is non of your concern yet. Second, no, I have not yet talked to him since yesterday. And lastly, why would it be "oh so unfair" for you? Have you found your mate without telling your sis?" I answered her questions then air quotes her words 'oh so unfair'.

"Uhh! What?! No no no no. Ofcourse not. I have not found my mate. You know that you'll be the first one to know right?" I could see the truth in her eyes while she say this words.

I smiled and immediately put her in to an embrace. Oh how I have thought of her otherwise. But here she is letting me know that she have not forgotten about me. "Oh how I've missed my brave warrior." I said loud enough for her to hear.

"I've missed you too big sis. Sorry for being to busy the pass few days." Finally the words I was yearning to hear. Finally she've realized how she have set me aside the pass days.

"It's okay Sky. But may you let me catch up on what happened to you the pass week so I wont get left behind on what's happening to you?" I asked her this question pleading she'll say yes.

"I. I guess it's just about time." She said, giving me a hint that there would be more from the talk that we'll have. I gave her a nod letting her know that I'm ready to listen. Then we headed out of the mall with her leading the way.

When we got out of the mall, she headed straight to the car. She asked for the cad keys and firmly suggested to drive. That I allowed her because I certainly don't know where she's taking me.

After a couple of hours, here we are again. On the car, driving back home. We've spent all the day talking and the darkness had engulfed the surroundings. And now I'm so overwhelmed with happiness, so thankful for this day.

Right after we arrived home and parked the car I suddenly remembered that we have not yet eaten dinner. "Oh gosh! I forgot!" Exclaiming with a sigh.

"What?" She asked.

"Food! We haven't eaten dinner and I don't want to cook. Unless you want to cook for us." I answered her question while taking some shopping bags from the back seat.

"Ohh. I'll handle it. We could just go and order pizza or Chinese. I'll pay." She happily offered and solved our problem.

This day had really made us closer. I guess that was just a phase that we need to go through; and we have survived. I just hope when the time comes and there will be a much bigger challenge for us, our connection will be stronger.

"Where have you two been?"

This time, I'm pretty sure I'm screwed. I was so busy and so happy that I have kept my wolf asleep, leaving me all alone by my self. Then I silently curse myself anyway possible.

"We just went out. We're sorry."

Sky was able to save me this time. See, I thought that Sky was still outside. I have just opened the door when Luna Sofia had startled me.

"Both of you. Come over here in the livingroom." Luna ordered. Which we obeyed immediately.

Upon entering the livingroom, it shocked me more to see not only the Luna but the Alpha, with another young wolf around Sky's age, was there. I turned to my left to see Sky have entered the room as well. Giving her a questioning look, she just motioned towards the couch. And so we got seated.

"Okay, since we're all settled. I would like to introduce my niece, Samantha. Sky, you already knew her right?" Sky nodded. "And Sam, this Megan Sky's sister."

After Luna Sofia introduced us to her niece and vice versa, she continued to ask us where we went and why they can't contact us. Luna Sofia looked so worried and truthful. Her eyes showed me pure compassion and love.

Then out of the blue Sky interrupts her. "We're really sorry. We didn't realized and we've forgotten to inform you." She tried to make excuses to get out of the situation

"I see. Well, would you girls mind telling us why skip the day?" Luna Sofia's curiosity is taking over her.

I was about to answer and I guess Sky was too when the Alpha, her husband, started to laugh. We all fell silent thinking what was funny for him to laugh. And when I checked on the Luna a smirk is present on her face while facing her husband.

"Stop trying to scare them. We all know that you can't scare Skylar."

Upon hearing these words Luna sofia started laughing as well. Then suddenly, by my side, Skylar started giggling. And so did Sam, Luna's niece. What's the matter I ask myself. Then Skylar taped my back.

"Cheer up Meg. Luna Sofia didn't mean to scare. But it totally worked on you."

"Oh. I thought." I started. But was not able to continue. Our Luna had started to walk towards me and Sky, but more to my side. Then suddenly knelt infront of me, she took both of my hand and started right through my eyes.

"I'm so sorry Megan. Really, I am. Because I know, I have kept your sister from you. See, I was to have a child of my own. But I had a miscarrige. She is tobe Skylar's age if she have lived. Will you find it in yoy to forgive me?"

Hearing this unsaid story about the Alpha and Luna's unborn child made me feel embarrassed. I'm very embarrassed now that I have thought of her otherwise. I can't believe I envied her and the attention sky has given her.

"Do you know about this Sky?" I asked my sister and seeing a guilty look on her I continued. "Why didn't you told me? I feel so stupid now." I told her what I feel.

"Oh darling. It's okay. Actually, it is my fault. I told her that I have talked to you but I haven't."

"And my wife had learned her lesson."

The Luna and Alpha are doing their best to make me forgive them. But the truth is, I was never angry to start with. I guess, I just needed time with Sky because I was not used to sharing her with others.

"It's okay, Luna Alpha. I was not angry and never will. I just got upset because she no longer have time for me whenever she gets home. Maybe, I just was not used to sharing her. But it's okay now. I had her for a day and we had catch up, so it's fine now."

I told them the truth. The most sincere answer that I could give them. Lifting my gaze to check on sky, she mouths the word 'sorry'. I nodded and gave her my warmest smile.

"Well then. Since everything's settled. We would like to talk to the two of you. While having dinner. Cause I'm hungry."

Alpha was the one to speak this time. I truly admire him for being the leader that he is. He reminds me of our father so much. But then I remembered.

"We don't have food yet." I blurted out from my deep thought.

"Oh we have. I'm sorry, once again. That we have broken in to your house and made ourselves at home. Sam and I have already cooked dinner for us all."

I smiled wildly. Actually, I really don't mind if they did. Because this time I felt like mom and dad never left. I missed them so bad and Luna Sofia together with Alpha John have made me feel as if they are our beloved parents.

When we headed of to the dining room. My mouth watered when I saw the food prepared on the dinner table. They really have cooked for all of us and I think 5 more people can eat with us with all the food they've cooked.

After a minute, everyone have settled on a seat ready to eat. Then Luna chose me to say grace. Which I was not prepared to do, because when mom and dad were still alive Sky was the one to say grace. But what the heck, I will give it a try.

Dinner went well. We continued to talk and they all started to enlighten me of what has happened and what will soon to happen. And at the end of the night, we all have agreed to be a one big happy family. But no one from the pack is to find out. It will just be us, me and Sky, Alpha John and Luna Sofia, and Sam.

Surprisingly, I have grown to like Sam even though we have just met. It is like she is our long lost sister that we never knew exist. I found out that she, just like us, is already an orphan. She lost her parents when she was just 10 and grew up with her aunt, Luna Sofia, and her Alpha husband.

Since we've settled everything, made dates and planned out our schedules for each week Alpha and Luna have decided to go back home. But I'm not yet ready to let go of Sam. So I asked Luna if she may stay for the night and then I'll drive them to school early in the morning. Good thing she have her school stuffs with her because Luna allowed her to stay.

The next thing we know is we're in my room all prepared to sleep. Yes, I will be sleeping besides my two sisters. Which somehow got me a little bit lonely. Since Sam's arrival to our life made me remember that one other person we have left at home. Skylar's childhood friend and bestfriend. I just hope she's okay.

I was so caught in thought that I didn't noticed the two have gotten quiet. And when I checked, they're already asleep. I suddenly felt so sleepy seeing the two sleep soundly. So I slowly drifted to sleep feeling so happy and blessed.
