Chapter 5

“f**k!” I worried too much, and he noticed something was off. I had to put on some acting.

“It's nothing, darling; you know Tianah and I have been buddies for years, and I feel I betrayed her”. I said, trying to hide my feelings.

We made some jokes that night, and he did his best to make me feel good and to put me to sleep.

A few days passed, and Mike was the most caring and supportive man to me. We sat in the garden having conversations and good laughs when a courier rider approached us and handed over an item to Mike.

“Did you order anything?” I asked interestedly.

“No, I guess, this is a surprise”.

We continued our jokes till he decided to check what was in his package, and it was a flash drive.

I was more interested at that moment. He playfully requested that we go inside and see what was offered to us.

He held my waist firmly and walked into the sitting room. Sitting on the couch, he connected it to the widescreen.

Suddenly, a video of Tianah and me having an intimate moment popped up on the screen.

My heart jumped out of my body.

Mike sat there with his face pale as he watched Tianah, and I sucked on each other's kitty and played with dildos.

I felt like the ground should open and swallow me up at that point. It wasn't just one day, but many other days included. She even added the day we went to the beach and we stayed till night just to explore it in that environment.

I could remember that day vividly when we had just come from a party, fully soaked in alcohol. Tianah had her body all over mine. She staggered to the bathroom to have a bath, while I watched her. He walked out and went straight over to his room.

“I think he's feeling betrayed,” I thought, wiping sweat from dripping into my eyes.

In the early hours of the evening, I went over to Mike's room. He lay there the whole day.

“Mike, please, can we talk?”

He turned reluctantly in my direction.

“Tima, come and sit”.

I sat really close to him, staring my whole gaze into his eyes.

“Tima,” he continued.

“I know Tianah, and you had some hidden relationships. I mean, it was too obvious. Don't worry about it. It's cool”.

“Just like that? That was so quick”. I thought quietly.

Days went by with so much gladness and peace that I forgot totally about my fears. But I always had this strike fear into my excitement. And yes, what I feared the most happened.

On a sunny afternoon, I got a call from an unknown number. And yes, it was Tianah.

“Hi bestie,” she said mockingly.

My heart flipped! I had been expecting her to do this for a long time now, but it took longer than I expected.

“Hope you're having fun with my man. Well, well, it won't last for long.”

I panted heavily so that she could feel the tension behind the phone.

“Tianah, Mike doesn't want you. Please forget about him and find a better man. Life is too short….” While trying to give her reasons why Mike doesn't want her she interrupted me.

“I will tell the world how Leonard died. Trust me Tima, you will feel my wrath. Don't underestimate what I can do to you.” Before I could plead with her over the phone, she hung up on the call.

It took a turn

I stood frozen, my face seriously drained, filled with fear.

What's next for me?

I knew I needed help but how do I get it?

I wondered if I should tell Mike about it. But I aborted that thought.

“What if he starts seeing me as a murderer”

I thought. Just then, Mike walked in and saw me in my devastated state. He tried persuading me to tell him what was going on, but I just had to put on an act for him not to suspect anything further.

He's a knowledgeable man. He obviously knew I was hiding something and he had to find out.

The whole night, I couldn't sleep. I lay facing my whole attention on the roof. I muttered slowly.

“Dear God, please don't let me pay for the death of Leonard”, I said as tears clouded my eyes.

“What if I go away from Mike? and run away from town to start life again?”

I concluded the meeting with Tianah and pleaded and then eloped.

I sent an email late that night requesting to meet her at a restaurant, but she requested it be at a hotel.

I didn't think much. I just wanted to see her and let go of all troubles.

The night ended, and I knew I had to run out before Mike noticed my absence.

I quickly got ready in a red gown; without makeup or proper styling of my hair, I left without a sound.

I got to the venue, which Tianah texted, and yeah, it was a five-star hotel with a great smell and beautiful aesthetics.
