Everyone knew that Alfred was the head of the family but the last word came from the lioness herself and she never bluffs hence they all paused in their movement. “Ohh will you look at that. You were the one to tell me that you were all equal but now you are threatening your guards. How ironic.” Alice said. She was fuming with anger. She has married a mere guard and she was not ready to accept that. She believed that the person she married was Xavier and no one was going to tell here otherwise. “Did I not mansion that although it is so, my son will always be superior and he will always get what he wants? My bad.” Penelope answered as she turned to leave. “Well than, you cannot tell me what to do. Father, tell our guards to follow him. I will catch up later.” Alice said. “Hey have you forgotten that you are my wife now. I will not allow that.” Ellen said. “Excuse me you low life. You are not my husband. Get that in your thick skull!” “There is only one truth here. You are my wife and Xavier has nothing to do with you and you cannot stop him from getting his true love. Make that two.” Ellen said playfully to annoy Alice. By the mention of Alexander, Alfred got even angrier and left the scene. He did not want to say anything that will expose that Xavier loved a man. “True love! Over my dead body. Xavier will love only me. No other girl is better than me. Who is she? I will kill her! I will kill everyone! No! No! I am the only true love!” Alice was shouting like a mad man. The guest saw that she might be a little mentally unstable so they began to scatter. “Alice, you are making too much noise. Shut up.” Penelope said calmly and began to walk to the house followed by Ellen and the rest of the maids. May passed Alice and Chuckled. Alice was left alone with her father and the rest of her family members who seemed not to be aware of what was happening as they were focused on admiring the beautiful mansion. Inside the house, Alfred was not having any of the things that happened. How could Penelope betray him like this? As he was pacing up and down Penelope walked in. “Penny! How could you betray me like this?” Alfred shouted. Penelope smiled and said, “I learnt from the best. Did you really think that I would let you ruin my son’s life like this for your selfish reasons? No one knows where Xavier is headed but me. You will never find him.” “Ellen, you still work for me. Come, let us find him. Do not dare try to disobey me or I will forget that you are my son’s friend and you are like a son to me.” Alfred said anger clear on his voice. Ellen looked at Penelope. He did not know what to do. He did not want to look for Xavier because he was not even going to put any effort to the search but he did not want to seem disrespectful to Alfred either. Only Penelope was going to tell him what to do now. “Go Ellen. Help them find Xavier.” Penelope said. Ellen knew what she meant and nodded. He called for other men to start their quest only wishing that they do not by any chance find him. City of Waternana “Abraham! That son of yours is at it again! Addison! Get your a*s back here. Didn’t I tell you not to go near that man? Go back to your room! You rascal! I thought you died. You disgust me.” Beatrice shouted as always. Everyone in this mansion has had enough of her but now they could not be happier as ever since the older son of their master Abraham was sold to this family as a slave, they have not been yelled at. They would purposely get him in trouble so that he is yelled at for their entertainment. They thought it was funny because he was the son of the master of the mansion. “Darling let him be for today I am tired today. We can punish him later.” Abraham said as he dragged his wife out of the dark small room his son was kept in. “Mother please do not punish him. It is my fault. I was the one who snuck him food. He did not even touch it mother, I forcefully fed it to him please mother.” Addison begged his mother while he cried. Unlike everyone else, he dotted on his older half -brother. When he heard the conversation that the slave brought to his house was actually his older brother he was so excited. He thought that he would finally have someone to look up to and who will always protect him. It was true also because he was a good man but not to the fullest and the way that his parents treated him added to his sadness. Although Addison was young he was smart and mature unlike the kids his age. He had tried asking him about it but he never talked, instead he would become even sadder. “Mother, if you hit him again I will cry. I will not eat until he heals. He is very weak mom.” Addison begged his mother. He never liked to play the sympathy card but when it came to his older brother, he would lose all shame. “Fine. I will let it slide this time. Come on now, let us go back and have dinner.” “Can we take him along mother, he is my brother and I care …” “HE! He is not your brother he is just a mere slave. Do not ever say this. See your father has already left for dinner. We should hurry be for he eats all the pork soup. I know it is your favorite.” “No I will stay here and eat what he eats. I want to look after him.” Addison said as he sat near his brother who looked like a wilted flower. He was not moving. The only way they could see that he was still alive was his open eyes that blinked once in a while. “Addison. Why are you like this?” Beatrice said as she released a sigh. The love for her son was deeper than the deepest ocean. She would do anything for him. Just why he must be so attached to that slave. If it weren’t for him she would have sold this slave, better yet have him killed. “Fine I will bring you something to eat.” “Bring a lot mom, especially the soup. I am famished.” Beatrice left and came back after a few with a tray of food. After she placed the food on the small table she brought out a candle and light it. The light reveled the clean small room. She did not want to stay there even for another minute hence she left after telling her son to come to bed on time. “Are you feeling cold? Blink twice if you are feeling cold.” Addison said as he watched his brother who indeed blink twice. “Okay let me ask the maid to bring a blanket.” With that said Addison left and came back within five minutes with a fluffy blanket, a cloth and a bucket of warm water. “I will clean your wound for you. It will be a little painful but tolerate with it. I do not want you to get an infection.” Addison said as he undressed him. The moment he placed the cloth his beloved brother closed his eyes a tears rolled down. “I will be gentle okay. My parents are not good people. I may be ten but I know what is wrong and what is right. I also know that you are a very good person and I love you very much. See, I am finished. I was fast yet gentle, wasn’t I? Come now let us eat. I asked for more soup because I know that you love it very much. It must have cooled down now. It will not hurt the wounds in your mouth. Here, try to eat it.” Addison said as he fed his brother but he did not open his mouth. “Fine then. If you will not eat I will not eat too. I will go to bed hungry and I will fall ill. It will be your fault.” Addison said pouting. He looked at his brother who slowly opened his mouth. Addison said while smiling, “I knew Brother Alexander loved me and does not want to fall sick. That is the reason you ate, right?”
