Jonah POV July 12 I woke just as dawn broke to find Avery watching me. Her eyes were sad, red-rimmed, and swollen from crying herself to sleep. I hated that I had any part in causing those tears. Some of the streaks were still visible and I lifted my hand, tracing one with my thumb. For a moment, neither of us spoke. No words were needed, not right at that moment. We just needed a few minutes to feel, to remind ourselves how much we loved each other and how long it took us to get to where we were.
