Avery POV July 13 Bill had warned me, but I’d thought he was exaggerating. He wasn’t. My upper body hurt so bad when I woke up that morning that I didn’t want to even attempt getting out of bed. I did it anyway and I did it with a sense of pride. Every muscle from the waist up ached from being overworked, but I’d taken back control of my emotions. I’d forced every ounce of fear and anger from my body and pounded them into that big vinyl bag.
