01 - A question
"Hey Sissy", Mandy looked up and saw her brother enter her room. He always called her Sissy, cause to him she is always his little sister. "Can you please help me out?" Sean asked her. She hadn't seen him for a few days. And she was quite curious what he would want from her. Before she could even ask what she could help him with. He was already asking her the following question. "Can you come to my dance lessons?" She looked at him in surprise, her brother really wanted her to go to his classes with him. No wait, he's taking dance class? She had so many questions for him now. But she had lost her tongue for a moment. Her brain took some time to process everything. "Please, Sissy, there are not enough girls in my dance class". Wait Sean has already had lessons? She didn't know about it, she hadn't even heard him about it yet. "Huh, you mean you've already been to dance school?" "Since when have you been interested in dancing?" she asked her brother very questioningly. She did not have the impression that dancing would be something for him. She herself there and against had already started dancing at the age of eleven. And had done nothing but dance, dance and dance for four years. Last year she temporarily stopped dancing. Her grades at school had fallen, and her parents had actually more or less asked her to slow down ,perhaps exercising less here and there, going out less. And concentrate on what was important getting better grades and passing fo her exam. Before her brother could answer, she overwhelmed him. "Have you asked Mom and Dad?" "You know they're the reason I haven't danced in the last year, don't you?"
"Yes, I have already spoken to them", said her brother, "They know that I am taking dance lessons and that I spent a lot of time on the side during the first two lessons". "We are twenty men and there are only seven ladies or so", saying that, he looked disappointed. "It's not easy if you don't get the chance to learn it, and I really want to be able to dance in October. Otherwise I'll be fucked." She looked at her brother, his blue eyes looked at her questioningly. "What is it in October that you suddenly want to dance?" she asked curiously. "Huh? Don't you know yet?" Sean said. "What don't I know?" Mandy asked even more curiously. "Bob and Iris, they are getting married in October." Bob was one of her brother's best friends. She didn't even know he had a girlfriend, let alone that he was already engaged. She used to dance with Bob before. So immediately understood what her brother meant, he could indeed look like a nobody next to him. Bob was a very good dancer, and according to her he would have met his future wife in a dance school. He could be found at every party that the dance school organized. She'd wondered in the past how he and her brother were so different. "What Bob is getting married?" she said, "No I didn't know that yet." "Who is this Iris? How does he know her?" Last year he had been single, she was pretty sure of that. In fact all of her brother's friends were single. Something she actually thought was quite weird, a few of them looked really good. And they where always very nice.
"I think Bob met her at a party." "It all went pretty quickly, and Iris is not from here, she lives two cities away. And oh yeeah she dances competitions, from what I heard she is pretty good." Sean said. He sounded like he wasn't really happy that his best friend was suddenly getting married. "The worst is yet to come, Bob asked me to be his best man. That's why I want to learn to dance now. As his best man, I think I must dance with Iris too. That would be a huge surprise for them, me dancing at their wedding." Mandy thought there where many more quicker ways to learn to dance. "Okay I will have to call Eduard and ask him if he is okay with it, I haven't danced a lot the last year". "Ow, and Sean did you concider private lessons, then you can learn to dance a lot faster". Sean was very happy she had said yes. "Private lessons arent an option when you are alone. And I want to learn the same way you did"
Eduard is the owner of the Danceschool, and Mandy deceided to make the call right away. "Sure Mandy, you would doing me a hudge favor if you would show up with your brother" "There will be no costs at all, if you are also open to dance with the other students." Eduard told her. So that was arranged immediately ,she was going back to the danceschool. "Sean, when are we having the lessons?" She had said yes, without even knowing that. "Well your first lesson with me will be tonight!" "I will pick you up at seven at the door of your room." "Well if you want me to come tonight you better close the door, I need to do some more of this homework. So I will be ready after dinner." Mandy only needed to finish one more page of homework. So she could dive into her closset to find the best clothes to ware this evening. She was pretty excieted it was a pretty long time ago. And she was glad her parrents had given her brother permission to ask her
Sorting out the clothes didn't take very long. The search for her dancing shoes seemed to take forever. She had only just found them when her mother signaled that dinner was ready. Mandy ran downstairs, in the meantime she had already changed and hung her dancing shoes in a bag on the coat rack, next to hear coat. They ate macaroni and her mother saw that Mandy was happier than usual. "I think someone likes it that she can go back to dance school," said her mother. "Yes duh" said Mandy. "Glad to go back and move again." "Don't you think you've forgotten most of it?" her father asked teasingly. "No, Dad, of course not, it's just like cycling that you don't just forget". After dinner she helped with the dishes and then flew to her room. Of course she wanted to update her make-up. And before Sean knocked on the door, she opened it. And looked at him very happy. "Are you ready for it?" Sean asked, her face showing the answer. She looked at him smiling "I was born ready."
She went to dance school with her brother. Who could have ever imagined that. Mandy got into the car. Sean drove them to dance school. Not much had changed in the dance school in the past year. Mandy hung her coat on the coat rack and entered the dance room with her brother. All eyes on her, her brother had indeed not lied. Almost only male eyes stared at her. She recognized two eyes, Eduard. He was behind the music table. But as soon as he saw her, he immediately walked up to her. "Hey Mandy, how nice to see you here again. And how glad I am to have you here." he sighs. "I have a very big problem right now. Wendy my dance partner for this class has just called in sick. Could you assist me during the explanation?"
She looked at her brother, this was of course not why he had asked her. But he had already heard the question. "Mandy do what you have to do, because if you don't dance now, we won't be taught anything tonight. Besides, you only have to help with demonstration," said her brother. Eduard thanked Sean, and apologized to him. "Only at the show, indeed, for the rest she is necessary to keep you busy." Eduard said with a big grin. "Thank you Mandy, you really are a lifesaver" Eduard whispered to her. Mandy was delighted. First time back in the dance school and she was allowed to get started right away. Not just by dancing with her brother. She was allowed to show that she could already dance by helping Eduard.
