The Golden Bite

I cry out in horror as they all start beating my mom to death. I try to get in there to help her but they keep pushing me back. They won't let me in. "Run my baby boy." I hear her scream before someone kicks her in the throat. Two people dragged my dad away with some silver cuffs. They couldn't take me because silver doesn't affect me. 

So instead they knocked me out. When I woke up I was too late. They took my dad somewhere and now they are beating my mom. I feel so helpless. I try again knocking 3 people out at a time. By the time I get to her, there is blood all over her face. It's unrecognizable. 

I feel her neck to see if she's still breathing, but she isn't. Her lungs have collapsed and her bones are broken. I scream angrily. How could this have happened? What did I do to deserve this? Please mom wake up. 

I sniff for my dad and catch his scent. I lift my mom's body onto my back and her blood runs down my chest. I use my wolf speed to get to him. Only two people are punching my father. I set my mother down and take care of them. "Hurry son we need to go." I break the handcuffs burning my father only once. 

He looks over at my mom's body and screams out. "No, no, no, no, no! Hanna, please wake up." he goes over to her. "Those monsters messed up your face. It's okay. It will heel." I walk over to my dad with tears in my eyes and put my hand on his shoulder. 

"Dad she's gone." I sob "No she's not Emilio. You Golden wolves heel slow, but you still heel." I hear people shouting find them. "We gotta go, dad." I lift my mom onto my back. She may be gone but I'm going to bury her properly. 

We use our speed trying to get to the next territory. It's going to take us 4 hours so we have to stay low. I spot someone running towards us. My dad gets ready to attack. Veronica shows up and we take a breath.

"They are looking for you. I know a shortcut to get you out of here follow me." she says "Why should we trust you. For all we know you could be leading us towards them." she looks at my mom with a sad look on her face.

"I'm not a monster like them. Your mother did nothing wrong and they killed her. I want to help you because I wasn't able to help her." she says. I look into her eyes for a second determining if she's telling the truth or not. 

I can't read her mind but I want to trust her. "Okay. Lead the way." 

We follow her for what feels like forever. When we get to the border 2 hours later the pack leader and some of his guards are with him glaring at us. It doesn't take them long to figure out we are running away. 

"Why are you here?" The Alpha growls. My father holds his hands above his head. "My name is David. My pack has kicked me out and killed my wife with evil intentions. We have come to live a new life." my father bows his head. 

"Aren't you supposed to be an Alpha?" He raises his eyebrow "Yes, sadly my whole territory joined together to kill me. I'm useless without my luna." he points to my mother on my back.

The Alpha looks at us with pity. "My name is Leon and I'm Alpha of the northern territory. I'll let you guys cross over but you will be giving up your old lives," he says. 

We both nod. I turn to Veronica. "If they find out you helped us you might be killed," I tell her. "It's fine. They won't find out." she pats my back. "Listen. My best friend's death wasn't your fault. You can't control who you are." after she gives me a smile she disappears. We follow the alpha through a bunch of woods before we reach some houses. There's a blue house and a red house side by side and a street leading to more.

"You will be living in this house. I'll come back to tell you both your jobs around here. You can say goodbye to your mom over there." he points to what looks like a graveyard.

I can't believe she's gone because of something I did. It's all my fault. My father nods and leads me over to it. Tears fall down my eyes as he picks up a shovel. "I set her down and cry over her body. "I'm sorry mom. If I was more careful you wouldn't be like this." I sob.

"It wasn't your fault Emilio." I look over at my dad. He has bags under his eyes and he's pale. He doesn't have any life in him anymore.

I kiss Mom's hand before helping my dad dig a hole. Once we are done we set her body into the hole. "I love you so much, baby. We were supposed to have 3 more children but those fuckers messed it up for us. I will kill every last one of them soon." 

My father says before putting a flower in the hole. Seeing my mother laying in the hole was something I will never forget.

"I'm sorry mom. I'll keep dad and myself safe. I failed you but I won't fail dad." we stay there for an hour apologizing for being too weak and letting her suffer. Then we bury her and a part of myself with her. I don't deserve happiness. I got two of the people I love killed.

I sneak off to go find my girlfriend Ariel. I haven't seen her in a week because her parents took her to go see her grandparents. I'm headed over there so we can get some alone time. I took her virginity last month and since then we have been going at it every time I see her. 

She told me she wasn't going to run off with her mate because she loves me. I believed her. I haven't told my dad about us yet. I did tell my mom and she told me to be careful. We haven't figured out if I was a Golden yet. My wolf hasn't activated or whatever that s**t is.

I don't want it to, if there is a possibility that I won't be able to have a mate. Might as well stay with my girlfriend. I love her and see a future with her. I hope she feels the same way though.

I climb up the tree outside of her window. I do our secret knock and she answers the door. She has on her pink skirt and white top. Her dark brown hair is up in a slick ponytail. She looks so cute.

Even though she's 18 she's still very innocent. She still wears pink and is embarrassed about grown-up things. I on the other hand act like I'm experienced. I'm nowhere near through.

"Hey." She grabs my hand and pulls me in. "Hey." I smile.

Once I'm in her bedroom I stand on the floor and hug her. For some reason, I can smell Xavier on her. The beta of this pack's son. I ignore it though, he is her mate after all. Maybe he was trying to convince her to get with him but she turned him down.

I start kissing her neck and her face goes red. "Are you still embarrassed about little kisses?" I smirk "Yes and there is nothing wrong with that. I'm new at this remember." I chuckle and she pouts. 

"Don't laugh at me you handsome jerk." she hits my arm with her fists and it feels like I just got punched by a baby. I love this girl so much. I wrap my arms around her and kiss her forehead. "I love you and I'm going to marry you one day," I whisper. 

"I love you too. You better promise me though, you can never love anyone else. Only me!" she kisses my lips.

"I promise." I lift her and her legs wrap around me. I create friction with her in my arms. She moans into my mouth. I lay her down on the bed. She pulls off my shirt. Then my pants. Oh, she's impatient today.

I pull off her underwear and pants and leave on her shirt. She doesn't feel comfortable being all the way naked. 

I grab a condom out of my pants pocket and rip it open. "Hurry," she mumbles. I slide the condom on quickly then slide into her. She's wet for me and it's easy to slide in and out. 

"Faster." she moans after I slide in and out 4 times. I start to go faster but not too hard. I don't want to hurt her. I slide in and out, our skin slapping softly together. 

Suddenly something in me snaps. I feel my teeth get sharp and my nails get longer. I start to get rougher. I go so hard but she loves it. "Yes right there," I growl and pin her arms above her head. 

"Mine." I lick her neck. "Your eyes are yellow Emilio." she moans. Maybe she's seeing things. How could my eyes be yellow?

My grip on her wrists tightens and she hisses in pain. s**t, I'm hurting her. "It's a little too tight but keep going." 

"Don't stop Emilio." I continue to thrust my hips hard. She arches her back as she gets close to her edge.

'Bite her' A voice in my head says. 'Bite her now' I do as he says. I bite her in her marking spot. I bite her hard. She cries out my name and pulls me closer as we come together. "I love you Emilio." she pumps her hips until she's empty.

I pull out of her and roll over to my side. "I need to tell you something," she whispers. She's half asleep and she tends to say a lot when she's half asleep. 

"I've been sleeping with Xavier....for the past 3 months." she mumbles "We went to a resort for our first week-long date." she snores. "I love you, but I love him more." she rolls over and lays her head on my chest.

I tense up. So she's been sleeping with her mate since she first met him. She told me that she was only going to be with me. I look over at the mirror and see that my eyes are a dark gold. 

The same color as my mother's. s**t! Am I a golden wolf? Did I just release my curse out on her? I start to cry. If she doesn't wake up tomorrow I will be devastated. I know she doesn't love me but I can pretend not to know what she's done. I love her with all my heart after all.

I'm destined to be alone forever anyway. No reason to have her leave me. I don't know when but I end up falling asleep.

Next morning

When I wake up Ariel is laying on my chest. Her face is pale and her eyes are wide open. She's dead. No, no, no. I shake her "Ariel baby don't do this to me." I try to do CPR on her. Nothing I do is working. f**k!

The door swings open and her mom walks in with a smile on her face. Her eyes go wide once she sees this scenes. "WHAT DID YOU DO?" she screams.

I get up and gather my clothes. Her father and 4 brothers walk in ready to kill me. Before they do I jump out the window and start running. "f**k! What did I do?"
