chapter 4
"Oh thank you, thank you!" I hugged Gabriel who handed me his notes from the previous classes I had missed.
"your welcome baby girl. Now you owe me one." He said
"So are you ready to tell me what you've been doing for the past few days that you weren't able to make it to classes?" Gabriel asked , folding his hands together and c****d his ear.
"I told you. I just came down with a headache, that's all."
"And how would you know if I was lying to you or not?" I rolled my eyes at him.
"Because you're not the type to miss classes because of some headache.
Not even if a lightning struck you Miss. Your dead ass would be roaming around school trying to find class."
"Do I love school that much?" I asked curiously .
"Yes you do." He said,
"We would need a few powerful priests to get this school purified again." Gabriel continued to exaggerate.
Tony was the only friend I had and he was the harshest person I'd ever known and I'm sure that not many would be able to be his friend without him being mean to them.
But Gabriel was never mean because he hated anyone or anything of that sort. It was just in his blood to be jokingly harsh.
And he was also gay.
"So spill." He continued to plead for me to tell him.
"I had an awful period of cramp for the past few days so I had to stay at home. I couldn't even walk." I lied.
"b***h please, your period was last week, remember. Unless you're some sort of alien that your period comes twice a month."
It was then and there I realized Gabriel knew too much about me. He was like one of those nosy neighbors that pried into my business but they were the most harmless at heart.
"I'm so hungry." I changed the topic because I was out of excuse
"Hell no, do you think I have money to spend on your broke ass everytime I see you?"
"Why do I always have to pick up the most empty pocket people for friends? I should've turned the left cheek when I first saw you coming that year." I sighed hungrily.
"Because no rich and obnoxious human is gonna want your broke ass virgin self around them. When those ancient folks made the word killjoy they were staring you dead in your eye."
"You're cold." I laughed at his weird way of putting things.
"I know." He smiled smugly.
Gabriels mouth was like a fire spewing cannonball. Even though we were best friends there were just some secrets you could never let him know.
One being the fact that I was inseminated with a billionaire's sperm. He would no doubt try to rub it into the rich student's face that his bestie got knocked up by a billionaire.
"I'll ignore the fact that you didn't answer my question but if I ever hear something important from someone else that I didn't hear from you. You're going to be in trouble." he warned me, pointing his finger at me.
Without hesitating he bought me lunch and I was more than happy knowing I had him for a best friend.
"So there's a new club that opened up recently . I think you and I should see ourselves there." Gabriel said "Not again."
"Helene you promised you would go with me to have a nice time there
if I bought you lunch and so far I've brought lunch for you twenty times and still counting. If you don't go then that's it, no more free lunches for you." Gabriel scoffed.
"And maybe I'll go as far as no friendship either."
One of the reasons why Jordan selected me as his surrogate was because of the fact My track record was clean.
What if I went to this club and something bad happens to me that will surely diminish my track record plus the major fact that I could not drink.
"Come on Helene, it's Friday night. Just think about it before you decline the offer. I'm tired of going out to enjoy myself by myself. It gets lonely." He begged.
"Fine, I'll think about it." I said to reassure him but obviously I could not go because I could not drink.
Or I could go but I'd have to make up some sort of lie to tell him about me not being able to drink. Or I could simply lie and say that I had something important that came up.
"And I want you to actually think about it instead of throwing the idea through the window and when the time comes you try to talk about how you've actually thought about and decided to decline the offer."
"Yes, yes I'll think about it." I sighed, taking in a big chunk of my juicy chicken sandwich.
Mighty goodness! How delectable! Tony whispered and I immediately sat up about to run.
"Where the hell are you going?" He shouted for me to sit back down.
Slapping his head Gabriel continued, "When I screamed it meant there's a hot guy in the room somewhere and that we should take precaution." He said in an obvious tone.
"Well why didn't you just say so?"
"You see, that's why we have no other friends because you're as lame as ever. Do you think the cool kids say there's a hot guy in the room?"
"Yes." "Good grief." He mumbled.
"Anyway there's a hot guy at 6:00 clock that has been checking me out. I'm wondering if I should talk to him."
"Why not?" I shrugged and chugged down my food.
"You're right, how do I look?" He asked me to fix his hair.
"You look gorgeous." I gave thumbs up but before he could leave another guy showed up.
He sat down immediately looking sad. I patted him on the hand before saying, "If he truly likes you then no one else will get in the way."
My words seemed to have comforted him as we continued to enjoy our meal in one piece.
That evening I went home exhausted as jasmine and I laid in bed reading nothing but notes until the door knocked.
"If that's the landlord I'll handle him." Jasmine got up to go to the door.
"Are you sure? You can do it."
"No, leave it to me." She went away and I heard as she opened the door.
"Who is at the door jasmine?" I asked her after not hearing her voice for a few seconds.
So I got up off the bed and headed to the door to see two handsome billionaires staring at me.
Oh my gosh
