Chapter 7
I sat impatiently on the doctor's bed while Jordan stood next to me. My cheeks flushed as I fidgeted with the hem of my shirt shyly while we waited on the doctor for the results.
I felt as though my husband was standing next to me. His dark and brooding aurora next to me flared my nose and I wanted nothing more than for him to pick me up and carry me away into sweet captivity.
Gosh, could I be a horny Virgin anymore?
"So I have the confirmation right here." Doctor Andrew had sampled my pee and blood to determine if I was pregnant.
"Oh." Andrew blinked several times to confirm what she was seeing.
"What are the results Andrew?" Jordan asked, obviously irritated with the doctor's slowness.
"Um.... Helene is not pregnant." he nervously spoke.
'What?! I shrieked and that's when I saw everything going black around me.
"Helene." I was suddenly shaken by the Doctor when I woke up. I sighed remembering my dream. Thank god it was only a dream.
"I just had the weirdest dream." I said
"What? That you weren't pregnant?" The doctor said once again.
"Oh my gosh yes how did you know?"
"Because you're not pregnant and you fainted after hearing the results." He replied.
That's when I saw black again but before I could fall unconscious the doctor slapped my cheek hard.
I quickly got out of bed walking back and forth into the room completely shell shocked on what could've gone wrong.
"B-but I don't understand, what could've gone wrong! I did absolutely everything right?!"
No, I needed to get pregnant!
Oh my gosh! I was gonna be thrown out of school with maybe a minimum wage job for the rest of my life.
No, no! I was this close to graduating!
God-damnit and we weren't even qualified for any more student loans!
"I have no idea why. Your ages are perfect. The ovarian reserve was good. Jordan sperm parameters were good. There was no underlying cause of infertility. There wasn't any detection of certain types of drugs in your system and I didn't pick up any other unidentified fertility conditions."
"I guess it was just not meant to be."the doctor said and I don't know but for some strange reason she sounded so evil saying it.
"Excuse me?"
"I'm just saying not every insemination that is done is a hundred percent successful. If Mr. Jones wants. Maybe you two could try again." he said.
That's when I realized that Jordan was no longer in the room as well.
"Where is Jordan?" I asked worried that he might not go with a second try.
"It's Mr Jones. He hates anyone apart from his parents calling him Jordan, I'm just giving you a heads up also he's outside making a call to his brother. He will be here in a few minutes."
Just before I was about to say anything to her Jordan entered the room and I was more than hopeful that he'll give it a try again.
I wiped the tears I didn't know were streaming down my face before turning to Jordan.
"I-I think we should try another time. J-just once. I'm sure the second time will be a lucky charm." I pleaded to him.
Jordan stared at me with unrecognizable emotions before turning to the Doctor .
"Have everything scrapped. We no longer are willing to go through another procedure." Jordan said.
"What?! But why?" I asked, holding my chest. It felt as though I was about to have a heart attack.
"My time and patience is limited, Helene. I have other matters to take care of and I don't intend to go through any more procedures." With this being said Jordan stepped out of the room before I could say another word to him.
It was minutes later after finally coming to reality that I decided to inquire about the other surrogate fathers.
"What about the other surrogacy father's who choose me as their feet? Aren't they still onboard?" I asked, needing an answer.
"Unfortunately not Miss Fisher. They
have already chosen someone so you would have to go through the whole waiting period once again."
"What but I don't have that kind of time."
"Then I'm sorry but there's nothing that we can do for you." The doctor stated before leaving the room.
I went home that night tired and exhausted from what had happened. Now I was all alone with my sister.
"Hey, how did it go? Are you pregnant?" Jasmine asked the moment I got home.
"I don't want to talk about it." I sighed feeling the weight of the world on my shoulders once again.
"Well if you are this sad that means it didn't work out. Oh god, what are we going to do!" Jasmine asked worriedly.
"I don't know what went wrong and to make things worst Jordan doesn't want
to give it a second try. I'm starting to think we have lost all hope. It's so hard trying to fight when there are so many obstacles in our way." I broke down crying.
Jasmine grabbed a hold of me before slightly slapping my left cheek and said, "We still have a week and that's enough time for us to try and think of a way to win this thing."
I smiled seeing her motivation but knew deep down inside that she was just as distraught as I was.
Hearing a knock on the door I went to open it rolling my eyes seeing the landlord at our door.
"Look we got the funds but the check but we just need to go to the bank to have the funds so if you could just give us..."
"I'm just here to let you girls know that since your boyfriend's have paid the overdue balance on the rent and paid for this month also. Maybe you two should appreciate me a little more that I had time and patience with you two by giving me....."
I slammed the door shut on the landlord's face after hearing that the twins had taken care of our debt.
I knew he was about to say something disgusting so I shut the damn door.
It must've been the day the twins had both come here. "They paid our rent?!" Jasmine said in amazement.
"I guess they did."
"! I think I may know how we can salvage all of this."
"How?"
"I'm going to Jones company tomorrow and I'm going to beg Jordan to reconsider. Even if I have to go down on my knees and beg."
