I haven’t spoken to Harper in a few days, not since I approached her at the restaurant in Detroit. Once upon a time, we were both so excited she was coming along on this road trip. I envisioned her in the stands, cheering me on, and sneaking into her hotel room to make love any chance I got. Of course, the reality has been so much different.
