Chapter Six As Archibald walked them out, Beatrice added, “The ladies from the church came by with a good deal of food, I believe. You may want to take some things home with you.” “I appreciate that,” said Archibald with a grim smile. “Very helpful.” The door closed behind them and Beatrice and Wyatt glanced at each other. “It’s a stressful time,” murmured Wyatt as they walked to the car. “Indeed it is,” said Beatrice. Wyatt started up the car and they rode away. Beatrice said, “Was it just me, or did Tilda seem a little off?” “I think the doctor must have prescribed some medications for her to manage the stress.” He glanced over at her. “How did you think she was?” “I think she was definitely under the influence of something, but I can’t really blame her, under the circumstances.”
