Chapter Five
The next morning, Beatrice was up for good at four a.m. after a restless night’s sleep. She showered and dressed, let out Noo-noo and fed her, and then settled down with the newspaper and some coffee. Then she even put some makeup on for good measure. She wondered how Piper was doing and how her night had been.
Wyatt woke up at a more-normal six o’clock. He looked a little confused at the sight of his wife completely ready for the day at such an early hour. “Everything okay?” he asked, rubbing his eyes and trying to focus. “Heard from Piper?”
“No, it was that mongo-nap I had yesterday afternoon. Apparently, my body thinks I’ve had enough sleep, even though I’m starting to feel like I could use some more.” Beatrice sighed. “No word yet from Piper or Ash. Hopefully, everyone
