Will We Survive

Eyes slowly opening I woke up to hearing sirens, explosions and people yelling. I got up slowly only to half awake, rubbing my eyes. I walked over to my window to see fires everywhere, people running, a woman fell and a man ran to her and stared ripping her open and tearing her with his teeth and soon after a second one joined him, th- they were EATING her! I couldn’t believe my eyes, so I focused more on what was happening, I recognized her outfit… THAT’S MY MOTHER! I started to tear up but there was a man who heard me an was trying to find a way up to me and I got really scared. I heard something behind me and I thought maybe he found a way in? I don’t want to be ripped apart! Maybe I’m dreaming. Wake up Emmy, WAKE UP! I could hear the creaks in the stairs as if someone were running up, I swung my head to see if it was that man, who found a way in. by I felt a sense of safety and loosened up when I realized it was just my dad. He looked terrified and I can tell he was crying as I was, he saw mom get eaten up as I did, he had blood on his shirt and hands, in his hand he held a bloody axe. Pack what you can and lets go, NOW! He knew I saw what happened to my mother, and he couldn’t loose me too. All that I could say in that moment was “will we survive?” he looked at me and said “ I sure hope so, so lets leave before we’re blown up or eaten too.” he looked as if it were his fault my mother was eaten, like he couldn’t protect her and he’s gonna hold that guilt for a long time.
