“Next question,” Finn said. “Who became the commander of the Confederate army of Virginia at the beginning of the Civil War?” He read off the four possible answers.
“Robert E. Lee,” Luke replied without hesitation. “I remember that from a Social Studies class.”
“Right. Okay. What country put the first satellite in space, in 1957?”
“Russia?” Luke said before Finn could give him the choices.
“Bingo.” Finn read off another question and the choices.
“I have no clue,” Luke said dispiritedly. “Hell, I didn’t know the answers to over half of them. Right?”
“I’m afraid so.” Finn patted Luke’s hand. “Think positive. Now you know what you have to concentrate on. That’s why we’re doing this.”
“I know, but, damn.” Luke sighed deeply.
“Hey. You’re going to be fine and pass with flying colors.”
