The Muses: Titans Return

Chapter 2

I leave Jace and his men in the office as I punch the wall leaving a hole and storming out mad. I can hear the guys whisper before I actually leave the room. I go to the safe room and see Melinoe holding Cassie. I run to her and Cassie giggles not aware of what has happened. I look at Melinoe mouthing a 'thank you'. Melinoe smiles and gives a slight nod before I walked out of the room and to the garden in the back of the house.

Cassie giggles as she runs to the pink roses and I smile. I look around the garden thinking about how I wanted a simpler life for myself and eventually my children. Cassandra is my reminder that I fear losing the ones I love. She makes me push to be better than my own parents. Suddenly a hand is on my shoulder and I jump as Deimos chuckles, "Lost in our thoughts are we, Anya?" He asked standing next to me.

"When they escaped they hurt Cerberus and then came here and killed two from our community. These Titans what do they want? Is this really all about Zeus and Cronus?" I asked looking over at him. Deimos pulls me close and kisses my forehead. He takes a deep breath and sighs.

"When Zeus overthrew Cronus it was a big deal. He imprisoned not only Cronus but his brothers who followed him. Crius, Coeus, Hyperion and Iapetus. Their children sided with Zeus so they were spared." He looks at Cassie playing in the grass, "I figured Jace would leave."

You look towards the back door and see Jace standing there watching us. Deimos walks over to Cassie and picks her up. Jace looks at Deimos and shakes his head walking away. I shake my head looking down. I start to hear a slight flutter in the air and I look up and I see Hermes coming down.

Hermes, God of messages, sleep and speed, and a pain in the ass. He stood before me wearing a suit and he gives a small smile, "Anastasia, it's nice to see you. Pan says 'hello' by the way."

"Hermes, to what do we owe the pleasure?" Deimos asks walking up to us with Cassie in his arms resting her head on his shoulder.

"Firstly, fatherhood looks good on you Deimos. Who would have guessed that the God of Terror would be a softie?" Hermes says chuckling, "Zeus is calling a meeting with all the Olympians. All the way down to the Muses." He says nodding to the two of us. I roll my eyes and we head towards the door and Hermes clears throat and we both stop slightly turning our heads towards him, "If I were you guys I wouldn't keep my father waiting."

I walk into the house not looking at him and walk right to the living room. I stop when I see Jace sitting there. Deimos stops right behind me shocked to see Jace sitting there, "Jace, didn't I tell you to leave that the meeting would get rescheduled?" I ask him running my hand through my hair.

"I came for a meeting with Deimos not you Anastasia. If Deimos wants to reschedule then he must say so. Until then I will wait for him to be ready for the meeting." Jace spits back at me. I take a step back a moment shocked at his tone.

"Jace. Do not be disrespectful in my home, to my wife. I have been nothing but respectful to you and I ask the same in my home." Deimos says stepping in front of me, "Anything she says you can assume came from me. We are both in charge here. There are things going on bigger than you and your band of witches. Now. Leave my home or I won't hesitate to kill you."

Jace stands up at the threat just as Deimos grabs my hand and turns walking us up stairs to get packed to go to Mount Olympus for the meeting with Zeus. We walk into our room and Deimos lays Cassie down on our king size canopy bed with our red and black bedding. He turns to me still mad about what happened downstairs.

"D, lets get packed. We will take Cassie with us. This way if anything happens we have people to protect her." I say walking up to him and hugging him, my arms wrapping around his waist. He cups my cheeks with a small annoyed smile.

"I really hate it when you call me that, Anya." I chuckle and take a step back to get packing. As I turn towards the closet he groans and I take a step towards the closet, "She will go to my mother if an emergency occurs. She usually doesn't get involved in the fighting."

I nod and grab a suitcase and start packing Cassie's stuff. Having magic has it's perks. Once I got toys and things for Cassie packed I wave my hand and I am wearing my black dress with my gold belt and gold headpiece. I turn to Deimos who was in a hutch by the bedroom door inspecting his sword. I wave my hands and he doesn’t flinch as his clothes suddenly change and he is wearing his red and gold gladiator armor. Deimos turns towards me as I walk up to him holding out my hand for his sword to help secure it around his waist. I secure my bow and arrows on my back and Deimos helps secure my sword and he grabs Cassie's bag and I grab Cassie.

We walk outside and meet with some of the Dryads Deimos gets for being a son of Gods. We made sure they understood what they needed to do while we were all away. Deimos and Phobos' chariot sat out front and we climbed in. Cassie and I stood directly in front of Deimos as he wrapped his arms around us grabbing the reigns to a Pegasus in front of us. Phobos takes his spot next to us with Melinoe behind him and he grabs the reigns to another Pegasus. Soon Artemis, Apollo, and Eurus joins us with their chariots. They nod at each other and Deimos and Phobos lead the group as the Pegasus' slowly start to lift up and the chariot jerks getting off the ground, sending me smacking into Deimos' chest as floats through the air getting higher and higher. I glance at Cassie and see she is sleeping peacefully. I take a glance back to make sure Melinoe is okay and she looks like she's gonna puke.
