The Muses: Titans Return

Chapter 3

Our chariots come to a stop outside of the Gates of Olympus. The gates were wide open as thousands of Gods and Goddesses made their way through them. We follow the groups to the large Pantheon and shuffle around as everyone gets seated. The twelve large thrones were now surrounded by bleacher like stadium seating. I look around as Melinoe comes up next to me. She nudges towards a few people over by my father. Standing next to my father is Zagreus, God of the Underworld and my brother, his wife Styx, Goddess of the Underworld and River in the Underworld, and Macaria, Goddess of a Blessed Death and my other sister.

I approach them and Hades quickly reaches out for Cassie. I hand her to him carefully since she was still sleeping. He smiles and bounces a bit making sure she stays asleep, "Dad, she is three years old not a newborn." I say with a chuckle. Hades gives me a quick glare and goes back to subtly rocking Cassie.

Zeus clears his throat and Deimos takes Cassie in his arms looking around for his mother but I can see my grandmother Rhea, I tap his arm, "Why not have Rhea watch her? She is the Goddess of Healing and Childbirth after all. She also has 12 kids, several hundred grandchildren and a few thousand great grandchildren." I say with a chuckle. Deimos walks up and I can see from my seat by my fathers throne, her face light up in the biggest smile as she takes Cassie and some toys and puts her in her lap.

Everyone sits in their seats except Deimos and Phobos who stand at attention on either side of their father behind his throne. Zeus stands in the middle of the room looking around with his hands behind his back looking at all of us one by one it seemed, "As you are aware the Titans have escaped Tartarus! Two of our young men in one of our Earth Communities have been murdered." Zeus says looking at Deimos. Deimos looks down taking it personally as though he was the one to kill them himself.

"We need to defeat them once and for all! Cronus was ripped to pieces, they should be as well. This will be the only time I will listen to any issues with us going after these traitors!!" Zeus looks around and someone stands that we wouldn't expect to stand, Astraia, Goddess of Justice, Innocence, Purity, Precision, and of the Constellation of Virgo; Daughter of Astraeus and Eos. Astraia who is usually quiet when it comes to war look at all of us, her green eyes almost looking into all of our souls.

"Zeus, we followed you once before against these tyrants, we will do so again." She says looking around and no one seemed to fight what she was saying. Zeus looked around before looking at Ares.

"Ares, do we have any idea where they are hiding out?" Zeus asks as Ares stands up looking back at Deimos and Phobos, both of them looking more like statues and not people.

"Their last known location was near Long Island, Washington, when they attacked Kydagra. Those who govern Kydagra have taken this personally as their families live there." Ares gives me a quick look before looking back at Zeus. "If we can keep them there we have an entire Island under our control, and that would save more of the Mortals lives."

Zeus sits in his throne and rubs his chin. Looking off into space weighing options. Zeus looks around the room one last time and he looks at all the Titans and Titanesses as well as all of us Olympians. "Generals, please stay behind. Everyone else, prepare to travel, we are going to war in Kydagra." Everyone stands and start filing out of the room leaving behind the Olympian Generals. Before leaving Rhea comes up to me holding Cassie's hand walking her to me. I give a big smile and Rhea lets go of her hand watching as Cassie giggles and gives a little hop running to me.

I pick up Cassie and she squirms in my arms seeing Deimos and wanting to go to him. I put her down and I smile at Rhea, "Thank you Grandmother. I hope she wasn't too bad." I say watching Deimos swing her around as the last bit of the room clears out.

Zeus stood by a table with Ares, Aphrodite, Apollo, Artemis, Athena, Demeter, Hades, Hera, Hestia, Poseidon, Phobos, and Zagreus looking at a map of Kydagra on Long Island, Washington. Deimos carries Cassie over to the maps too listening to what was being said. Rhea looks at everyone and chuckles, "I birthed and raised Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades. I think I can handle her. Even if she is the God of Terror's daughter."

I chuckle watching Deimos putting Cassie down. I crouch down but instead Cassie stumbles along the legs of the Gods and Goddesses. "We have the Gladiators of the Undead on call and ready to come when needed. We also have all of us who are required to learn to fight." Zeus says looking around the room. Cassie stops and sits almost directly on Ares foot. He glances down at her and she looks up him and smiles.

"There are only four Titans. Titan Crius, God of Heavenly Constellations-" Aphrodite starts to say as Deimos laughs out loud.

"Mother, lets be serious, these are all Old Gods who have been locked up for thousands of years! God of Heavenly Constellations is almost a laughable title too." Deimos says looking at Aphrodite laughing like she said something funny. Aphrodite leans to the side and sees me raising an eyebrow at me and glances back at Deimos.

"I must save my husband from his mother, pardon me Grandmother." I give a slight nod to Rhea and walk over to the table, "Deimos, lets be serious, these are Old Gods you don't get locked up in Tartarus for solely being a God of Heavenly Constellations." I say reminding Deimos, "I apologize for my husbands outburst, Aphrodite. Maybe your son needs to relearn that here on Olympus he is a minor God."

Aphrodite smiles brightly and Ares looks at me displeased for disagreeing with his son. Deimos does a double take and looks at me shocked. "As I was saying before my son rudely interrupted me, Titan Crius, Titan Coeus, Titan Hyperion and Titan Iapetus have all escaped. Artemis, Apollo I hate to ask this but, has your grandfather reached out too you?" Aphrodite asks looking at Artemis and Apollo.

"No Aphrodite we have not heard from Coeus. Even if we did we side with our father no matter what." Apollo says standing next to his sister who is standing next to Zeus, "Our loyalty has always been with father and never our grandfathers. Either of them." They continue to talk for hours, at one point I had to leave to get Cassie some food and I ended up leaving her with Melinoe as I go back to the meeting since I help govern Kaydagra and should be in the loop of whats going on.
