Chapter 15 : Being a Vampire

Isabella pov

We waited in our rooms for further instructions from our superiors.

I had the urge to go to the chambers but I quickly dismissed the idea as it came.

It'll be too painful to see the pure joy on my father's face when he labels me a traitor.

I just have to sit tight and stay calm. I have this strong belief that everything will be alright.

I got up to take my bath and go to bed because I felt fatigued. The events of today must have drained me completely. Besides the only reason I don't sleep quickly at night is because I still had to go to the chambers and watch him.

Now I can't even go and see him all thanks to the king who put the word out that there's a traitor in Nexus.

Not too long after I laid down on the bed I heard the speaker. We were being summoned. It said " All members of the elite team, report to the Aquarium immediately "

This had better be good news. One more bad incident and am sure I'll loose it and scream at everyone spilling out all I know. I laughed when I made a mental picture of myself shouting and saying everything. They'll probably lock me up in a mental asylum because it all sounds crazy and untrue. No wonder My uncle Arnold and Lord Lorenzo did not bother saying it without evidence. without concrete evidence,,these accusations sounds so crazy.

I got up from the bed and made my way to the Aquarium.

I met with Jess just outside my room. I smiled weakly at her. I know she came to get me so we can go to the Aquarium together.

Jess : Were you able to get some sleep??

Bella : Nope.... I was just about to before we were summoned. How about you???

Jess : I could not even close my eyes for even a second.

We kept walking and met with the rest of the team who were waiting for us.

Sometimes I tend to forget that am a team leader and my teammates cannot go in without me.

Bella : Sorry I kept you waiting guys. My feet dragged on because I couldn't catch any sleep.

Brian : Same with the rest of us.

Jefferson : I don't even think any of us would ever sleep well again except we clarify these issue's.

Andrew : Which brings us to the issue on ground. What are we going to do now??

Queenie : Yeah what are we gonna do??? We can't just walk up to the king or our superiors and question them can we??

Jess : Besides we'll be severely punished if they find out we were eavesdropping on the conversation between the king and the council.

Bella : I'll suggest you all put on your best poker face, keep your questions and doubts to yourself and most importantly,, we know nothing about Lucas,, understood??

They all nodded their heads in agreement and we went in.

The king was sitting down leisurely as we were being addressed. You'd think he's unaware of our presence but I know he was looking at us trying to size us up or get a negative reaction from us.

We all knew what was at stake if we are caught so we just walked in calmly. We greeted the king and our superiors and waited silently for further instructions.

Lord Harry : We are sending our best teams to infiltrate the dwellings of every supernatural creatures. We want to know how many of their kind have joined forces with La Verdad already.

Bella : I thought all these information was supposed to be gotten from the werewolf we brought back with us.

Lord Harry : Unfortunately the werewolf has not provided us with any useful information yet and we don't have much time. We need to bring down that organisation.

King Arthur : Our progress with the werewolf should not concern you right now. He is now our prisoner and it will remain that way. He shall be released when we finally put an end to La Verdad. Brief them on their next mission Harry. They leave in the morning.

At least he was considerate enough to let us sleep tonight before sending us back to earth.

I can't believe he lied to us about Lucas. I was lost in thought again but Andrew subtly pinched my arm to draw my attention to Lord Harry as he started telling us about our next mission.

Lord Harry : Your next mission on earth is just like the first. The only difference is that you won't be attending any school. You'll be living with leeches so you need to be very careful around them.

Leo : When you say leeches,,, do you mean vampires??

Lord Harry : That's right Leo. You'll be living with vampires.

While carrying out your first mission on earth,, did you happen to hear of a famous five star hotel called " Fabulousa " that has a resort and fun clubs for both teens and adults???

Queenie : No Lord Harry. We were just students then remember??

Lord Harry : That's right you had no time to go for sight seeing on earth.

Jefferson : Are we going to be staying in fabulousa??

Lord Harry : You wish.. Every guest that stays at Fabulousa are filthy rice Vampires and they've lived long enough to know all those in their circle.

Claiming to be in their circle will not get you the informations you need. instead it'll just put you in their radar and they'll be very guarded around you.

You'll be working at Fabulousa in different departments. An apartment has been gotten for you and your jobs has been secured already.

The hotel is owned by a vampire and he only employs humans to work there because most of the guests are vampires too and they sometimes hypnotize the humans and feed from them. Although the council have stopped them from feeding from humans,, he still employs only humans out of habit.

Bella : Vampires feed on the blood of humans. If the council stopped them from feeding from humans,, how will they survive??

Lord Harry : They get their supplies from blood banks. They are not allowed to feed directly from humans because they sometimes lose control and drain the human completely. That's why Its safer to get their blood from the blood bank.

You'll be working as humans so you'll be in your human form.

As you work there, try your best to gather as much information as you can get and try not to be alone with a vampire for too long. Your smell as human virgins may be too hard to resist. Although you can't be hypnotized by a vampire, you'll still have your cover blown if they know who you are and that will be too dangerous. We don't want to have to explain to their clan leaders why changelings are working as humans in their territory.

Never forget how important this mission is and don't get distracted from your mission. You will depart in the morning and you will begin working at Fabulousa the next day.

When you get to your apartment you will find a file that contains all you need to know about your job description on your beds.

Now you may all retire to your rooms except your team leader.

My teammates all left and I stayed back with Lord Harry : How do you feel Isabella?? You just lost a teammate and am sure you felt it. Will you be able to handle this next mission??

Bella : Am not just the elite team leader. Am also the only princess in Nexus and heir to the throne. If I get shaken by the death of one person, how then would I be able to lead our people and carry on my duties to other supernatural creatures??

Lord Harry smiled at me. I could tell that he truly believed my lies just now. I can't believe I lied straight to his face. Wow!! Am really my father's daughter.

Lord Harry : Good. You're expected to keep an eye on your team mates and report every details.

Bella : Yes Lord Harry.

Lord Harry : Dismissed.

I walked out of the Aquarium and met all my teammates except for our new team member Vikki. They were all waiting for me and I was so shocked to see them here.

Bella : What are you all still doing here??

Leo : Waiting for you of course.

Bella : Come on guys; Lord Harry could have decided to come out before me. What would you have said??

Brian : Do you blame us? What if you turned up dead too??

Andrew : Hahahaha. very funny. My father is not a murderer Brian.

Brian : Really?? Then explain to us how Cleo died or are you trying to say that our king is a murderer??

Bella : Shut up you two. We better leave here before anyone hears us.

Queenie : What did Lord Harry want? Why did he ask you to stay back??

Bella : He wants to know if I can still do my job. He thinks the death of Cleo will affect our productivity. He also wants me to keep an eye on you all and report back. That's about it I guess. Please let's hurry to our rooms. We'll have time to talk about all these when we return to earth. By the way, where is Vikki?

Jess : We followed her down the corridor until she entered her room. Then we sneaked back here.

Bella : Ok good. I don't want her thinking that we don't want her in this group. ok let's go and sleep now. Dont forget we are leaving first thing in the morning.

Jefferson : I know I won't be able to sleep tonight.

Jess : Me neither. Am sure I'll be taking a sleeping potion tonight. I suggest you all do the same except you want to look like a Zombie tomorrow.

They all agreed with Jess and we all went to our rooms to sleep.

As I lay on the bed, the words of the werewolf replayed in my head. He believes I'll get all the answers I need from the fairy. I'll need to find a way to visit the fairy.

Once I get to earth, I'll start planning my next move.

I need to know what is really going on?? My team mates already have their suspicions.

I need to first understand what's really going on before I can share what I know with them. They need to know the truth.

I can't just sit and expect things to fall in place. I need to do something. I need to find the fairy. Maybe he can tell me something about him.

I can't just wait for him to find me. He doesn't even know I exist. I have to find a way out of all these. I need to talk to someone. All these guilt is slowly killing me.

I know I won't be able to sleep. He's the only one that can make me feel better and sleep well but I've not seen him for so long and its killing me.

Dear Lord!! Am I slowly going crazy??

How can I be so attached to someone who doesn't know of my existence to the point that I won't be able to sleep if I don't see him.

I can't hold myself any longer. I have to risk it. I have to go to the chambers now. I don't know why but I just have to.

I stood up from my bed and made my way to the chambers. Everyone should be asleep now. if am caught I'll simply say I was looking for Lord Harry to ask him what time exactly that we are leaving for earth tomorrow. "Lame Escuse right?? I don't really care right now. I just have to see him. Just a glimpse and am sure I'll be ok.

Seems like the universe agrees with me tonight because I did not encounter anyone on my way and that saved me from using my stupid excuse.

I soon arrived at the chambers and I got on my father's seat and put on the helmet. My heart was beating so. I don't know if its beating this fast because I was scared of being caught and labelled a traitor or because I was so happy to see him so I did the only thing that could put my mind at ease. I watched the screen and focused on the humans and boom... There he was in all his earthly glory sitting on his bed. From the look of it he's finding it hard to sleep too.

Could he be thinking of me just as am thinking of him??

I smiled at him. Then I saw him look around as if he was looking for something or someone. Then he gave up searching for whatever he was looking for and soon enough he lay down on his bed and slept off smiling like an i***t. I felt so excited because now I can well. Seeing him has given me more courage to carry out my plan to search for him. If I don't find him I'll never feel complete and fulfilled. I watched him for just few minutes before I sneaked back to my room.

I resisted the urge to touch him through the screen again. I don't want what happened the last time to repeat itself. Dont get me wrong I enjoyed the feeling I got when I touched him but I just can't risk it.

As soon as I got to my room I laid on my bed and slept off immediately. Who needs a sleeping potion when I can be knocked out by just seeing someone.
