Kael's Pov
I found Eldric in his chambers surrounded by ancient books and scrolls and candles burning everywhere.
"We need to finalize the ritual preparations" I said without greeting.
"I know" Eldric said and did not look up from the book he was reading "sit down and I will explain everything"
I sat in the chair across from him and waited while he finished reading whatever passage had his attention.
"The sacred site will be deep in the Black Woods" Eldric finally said "it is the oldest site we have and it is surrounded by ancient protective magic"
"How many warriors can I bring" I asked.
"Twenty at most" Eldric said "any more and the magic will reject them and the ritual will fail"
"Twenty warriors to protect Elvanya from an entire rebel army" I said "that is not enough"
