Elvanya's Pov
I woke up slowly and everything hurt and my head felt like someone had been hitting it with a hammer and my body ached all over.
The bed under me was soft and familiar and I smelled Kael's scent on the pillows and it was the first thing that made me feel safe.
I opened my eyes and saw the ceiling of his chambers and sunlight was coming through the windows and I wondered how long I had been asleep.
"Elvanya" Kael's voice said and suddenly he was there leaning over me with worry all over his face "thank the goddess you are awake"
"What happened" I asked and my throat was so dry it hurt to talk and the words came out scratchy.
"Here drink this" he said and helped me sit up carefully and held a cup of water to my lips.
