“What if, I am not the one who inflicted such pain on him, what if he did it by himself?”
****************
Everyone couldn't help but pause, their gaze focused on the male gentleman walking on the tiled floor, his fancy Gucci shoes, dominant and walking with confidence.
'Was my father informed on my arrival?’ His metallic voice reverberated around the airport and girls gasped.
“Yes, an hour before you boarded the plane” Hardin, his Pa replied and Devon hummed.
AIRPORT
“Who's he?” A lady asked and another moaned in want. “I don't know, but he looked super rich”
“Welcome back Mr Rizz” The butler said, the moment Devon walked out the airport.
The blinding lights, and city technology, the popping music and girls staring, everything looked so familiar.
“Hmm”
He hummed and the butler opened the car for Devon, he has known Devon long enough to understand he prioritizes humming over talking, when he feels it's unnecessary to say a word.
His Pa watched as the car drove away and he called a cab, it was against the rule to get in the same car as his boss, he wouldn't even try it if he was paid, his boss was his life.
His boss was planning to return to London in such a fast paced, but his grandfather had suddenly called him over some important matters.
His boss had tried to use every scheme to decline the offer but his grandfather was really strict and manipulative.
Devon in seconds found himself in the airport and on the plane, he could remember clearly his boss grumpy face he was afraid close to his boss at that time actually, even though they were riding first class, it was chilly and suffocating for some reason.
The taxi honked repeatedly and Harry snapped out of his thoughts, he shiver slightly and he cleared his throat and walked towards the car, the glaring eyes of the cab driver softened and Hardin scoffed.
“Pretense!” Human nature, he thought and walked into the car.
“where to sir?” The taxi driver asked.
“Rizz villa” he said and the taxi driver froze, he squinted his brow and glared at the rear view mirror.
“That place is off limit to cars like mine” he said and grunted in anger
“Get out “ he raged and Hardin heaved a sigh, it wasn't the first time he got such a reaction from lower class people.
He brought out his business card and shoved it into the taxi driver's hands, his eyes widened and he stammered in shock.
The taxi driver had heard rumours of ordinary drivers that tried to enter the Rizz villa, alot of people were disgraced and ragged outside, so he didn't want to be one of them, but when he saw the card from Hardin, he was shocked, this could be a pass for him to finally see the villa for the first time in his life.
“Yo..you work for him” He stammered and Hardin flashed a smile.
“Drive” he coldly said and yanked back his card, the taxi driver's smile faded and he grumbled Lowly.
“Rich brats” he cursed and started his car engine.
“The employee is just like the Boss, good riddance” he muttered through clenched teeth.
Devon gazed at his wrist, his thought traced back to the meeting he had in a few hours.
“Gerald” he called and the butler smiled.
“Yes Me Rizz?”
“Drop me at my zone” he ordered, his tone laced with all of coldness and spite, clearly enough to make anyone flinch.
“But sir, your Grandfather ordered you to be brought home the moment you arrive at London” he added and Devon frowned.
“My grandfather would understand, besides work first” he said and Mr Gerald heaved a sigh.
“You're still the same cold Devon I knew” He added and Devon chuckled.
“Drop me off” he added and Mr Gerald eruptly stepped on the brakes.
Without waiting for a word from Gerald, Devon opened the car door, his long legs extended out, his shiny black pants and shoe screamed wealth.
He walked out and gently repaired the watch on his wrist, he looked round the surroundings and grumbled.
“Still no changes “ he muttered and walked towards his Rose Noire Droptail car.
“Sir Rizz?” Gerald called and Devon paused on his step, Devon eyes a bodyguard and he walks towards him.he whispers some words and leaves the vicinity with his car.
The sparkling tyres and silk body almost blinded the eyes of Mr Gerald and the bodyguard.
“He said to tell Grandpa, he will be late”
**********RIZZ MANSION*********
“Mum where's brother, shouldn't he have arrived now” Felicia, Devon's half sister excitedly asked and Rosa rolled her eyes in annoyance.
“Think of your own biological brother, not Devon “ she half yelled and shoved her daughter's hands away in annoyance.
“He always keeps his elders waiting “ she grumbled angrily and scoffed in annoyance.
She walked towards Harry, her husband and Devon's father “where's he? He always loved to keep the elders waiting for no particular reason “ she bad mouthed and Harry frowned.
“He will be here soon” he muttered and heaved a sigh.
“You always support him, and it's annoying yet he doesn't give you the respect you deserve” she added and Harry's grip on his glass tightened.
Risa's eyes flashed brightest, spotting his anger and she chuckled slowly. “I’m sure he a….” Her words were cut off by the car honk that arrived at the entrance.
The blinding lights on the door and Grandpa Eugene smiled, he happily said to the car with the help of Felicia.
Only for Hardin to walk out, he gently adjusted his suit and smiled. Everyone was expecting it to be Devon cus he actually changed the taxi car he was in, after his Boss Devon called him.
“See, I told you, he's disrespectful” Risa whispered into the ears of Harry and walked away elegantly with a smile on her face.
“Where's that bastard?” Grandpa Eugene yelled and Hardin swallowed a huge lum, his boss basically killed him but letting him come alone.
Grandpa Eugene was scary and cold like his boss, surely Devon got that feature and stubbornness from his Grandpa.
“Sir Eugene, Mr Rizz told me to inform you, work calls” he added and Eugene striked his walking stick angrily on the ground.
“That bastard!” He yelled and Hardin chuckled nervously.
“Surely, he took after you Sir Eugene “ Hardin added and Eugene frowned, he averted his gaze and Hardin glued his lip together.
“Sorry” he added and Eugene frowned.
“Anyone call that brat, I call a grandson”
