We didn’t waste any time. We rushed to the location as quickly as possible. No one said a word, even though we all wanted to know whose body had been found. I had a feeling it was Thomas, but I wasn’t sure. But when we arrived, Paul stepped aside, and we could see that it was Thomas.
“NO!” Hayden cried out.
“Get him out of here,” I said to Xander, who immediately grabbed Hayden and forced him back. Liora and I inched closer. Kody and Andrew right behind us.
“We didn’t move him,” Paul said as he gestured to the guard who had probably stumbled across Thomas’s body. “Jacob immediately let me know and…well, the tracks are a mess and the wind scuffed the bank,” I took in the scene. It was as if they had left his body on the river stones where the birches leaned in as if they were listening
