"But Dad, I don't want to go," I whine.
"Come on, Vanessa, it will be fun," Dad insists.
"And you’ll finally get to talk to Jake again," Kevin adds.
I’m at Dad's for the weekend, and now I find out I have to attend a gala at Jake's house.
"I don't want to talk to him," I cross my arms.
"Sure," Kevin replies.
At least I don’t have to worry about Mrs. Arlene; she’s already at the mansion.
"You already have a dress," Natalie says.
Dad bought a dress online after Mom picked a color.
"I have to say, it's beautiful," Dad smiles.
