Chapter 3 Dannya Menchaca

4064 Words
He arrives with a huge tray full of food. "I hope you like Chinese food. It was the only thing I could think of ordering." "I'm not a picky eater." He bites his lip and runs his eyes over my body. "Me too, especially without clothes." "Cameron, don't look at me like that. You're making me blush." He gets so close to me that I can feel his minty breath. "I can't believe you don't realize what you do to men." "According to Barnett, pity." He gets up from bed, annoyed. "You have to stop thinking about the stupid things that a man has told you. You're very pretty, you have a spectacular body. If you weren't a bit weak, I'd be covering you with kisses." "Do you always have to be so direct?" "Yes, I always like to say what I feel." I feel a bit uncomfortable with the way he's looking at me. "Cameron, what's going on in that head of yours that's making me so nervous?" "I'm thinking that if you were already divorced, I'd tie you to my bed to enjoy you all night." I choke on my food, and he comes over, patting me on the back while laughing. "Loren, I'm sorry, but that's how I am." I stay serious for a moment, starting to imagine myself tied to this bed and I can't help but feel a tingling sensation running through my body. Maybe Barnett is right. I'm a bit of a prude when it comes to s*x. "Stop thinking, because if you sigh like that again, I'll forget that you haven't signed the divorce yet." I move closer to him and, gathering some courage, I kiss him. At first, he's surprised, but then he responds to my kiss and positions himself on top of me. My God, the way he kisses, I almost feel like I'm losing consciousness. He starts to take off my blouse and caresses my breasts. I remove his jacket as best I can and run my hands over his back, his muscles are tense. He begins to kiss my breasts and I feel like I can't hold back any longer. He takes off my pants and when he starts to undress, I get nervous instantly. The size of his... his... package is very big. Seeing me looking at him like that, he smiles. "Don't worry, I'll be very careful." We start kissing again, and he's about to make love to me when the doorbell rings. "Did you order more food?" "No, I have no idea who it could be." The doorbell keeps ringing insistently, and he gets up cursing, starts to get dressed, and I quickly get dressed too. He goes to answer the door while I fix my hair. Suddenly, my mom enters, followed by Hector rushing into the room. "Daughter, how are you?" She comes closer and takes my hand. "Honey, your hands are very hot. You don't have a fever, do you?" Oh mom, if you only knew that I did have a fever, and it was about to be taken care of before you arrived. Just then, Cameron enters the room and smiles, his hair is a bit messy and his lips are very red from the kisses we shared. "No mom, I don't have anything. They gave me an injection yesterday and I feel a bit tired, but that's all." "Ma'am, your daughter is alright. They gave her a sedative to calm her anxiety, which is why I preferred she stays in bed until she feels better." "Please call me Nora." "Alright Nora, but don't worry, as I said, she's fine." "Thank you, Cameron, but I'd feel better if I take her to our house. Come on honey, you need to rest, and I can keep an eye on you." My mom brought me a change of clothes, so I reluctantly go to the bathroom and change. As I look at myself in the mirror, I sigh. I had never experienced what Cameron made me feel. If I got lost in his arms with just a kiss, I can't imagine what would have happened if we had finished what we started. Although I think it was probably for the best that my mom interrupted us. I'd like to sort out my divorce first. I came out dressed. My mother and Hector are talking enthusiastically with Cameron. "Honey, is what Cameron just told me true?" "I don't know mom, what did he tell you?" "That you're going to buy this beautiful apartment." I turn to look at Cameron surprised, and he smiles at me. "I spoke with your agent and we reached an agreement. It's just a matter of you filling out the paperwork and making the deposit." "What? But that's impossible, this apartment must cost a fortune." "Honey, we have some savings, and we could help you." "Thank you, Hector, but it's not necessary. I won't buy something I can't afford." "Then you won't buy it." Cameron approaches me. "I already told you, I reached an agreement with your agent. Talk to her before making a decision." "Alright, Cameron, thank you so much for everything you've done for me." I lean in to give him a kiss on the cheek and he whispers to me. "This isn't finished. I'll have to take a cold shower because of you." "If it's any consolation, so will I." He smiles at me, and we go to my mother's house. Since I have this week off, I am going to my best friend Gina's house. As soon as she opens the door, she pouts at me. "I have to tell you, I'm upset with you. You hadn't called to tell me about the divorce, and it's been several weeks already." I give her a hug. "I'm sorry Gina, but I went on a trip when it happened, and I just got back a few days ago. I'm staying with my mother while I find an apartment." "Don't get me started. Julian told me that i***t brother-in-law of mine wants to keep everything, and you're letting him." "Gina, I don't want to fight over material things. I prefer to start over." "But thanks to you, he was able to finish his degree, the jerk." "Don't worry about that. Besides, it looks like I already have an apartment, and you can't imagine how beautiful it is." "Really? You have to invite us over as soon as you move in." "Of course. And where are my little angels?" "Angels? More like little devils, if you ask me. They're at daycare, we still have a while before we pick them up." "By the way, why didn't you go to the firm's party last weekend?" "Julio had a low-grade fever and I didn't want to leave him with the babysitter. Julian told me you went. I hope you're aware that Barnett just used you." "Yes, but to be honest, I had a pretty nice night. It turns out I met a coworker there, and we had a wonderful evening." "Oh, so a new coworker, huh?" "Yes, and don't look at me like that, you're making me nervous." "You get nervous when you've done something bad, so tell me what you did with this new coworker." "After the party, I had a very strong anxiety attack. He took me to his apartment and had a doctor check me out. They had to give me an injection to calm me down." "That's not bad at all, you don't need to be nervous about that." "No, that's not why I'm nervous." "Then why?" "Well, to cut to the chase, I almost slept with him." "What do you mean by 'almost'?" "We were n***d when my mother arrived." "Oh my God, Mrs. Nora interrupted your tune-up." "Oh, stop it, you. But it's true, my mother came to pick me up, and I can't deny that, although I know it's not right, I would have liked to finish what we started." "Why isn't it right? Don't tell me it's because you're married. Barnett hasn't laid a finger on you in ages, he was probably with that witch long before." "I don't know, but I'd like to be divorced first. Besides, it seems too soon to have another relationship." "Well, you don't have to commit. As long as he gives you regular service, that's enough." "Gina, you're just like my mother. You're not her long-lost daughter, are you?" "Maybe. Hey, I have a question I can't help but ask you." "What is it?" "Did you see your new coworker n***d?" "What do you think?" "Judging by that goofy grin on your face, I'd say you did." "Don't ask me, but please, I've never seen anything like that in my life." Just then, Julian enters and smiles when he sees me. I blush while Gina laughs heartily. "What were you talking about that makes you look so suspicious?" Gina answers quickly: "About some pretty big stuff." I let out a huge laugh. "Yes, Julian, about huge things." He just watches us as Gina and I keep laughing. "Well, Loren, I have news for you. It looks like Barnett is going to sign the divorce papers this week, and if all goes well, you'll be free in a few weeks." I approach him and give him a hug. "Thank you so much, Julian." "It seems the law firm is pressuring him. I don't know how they found out." "Well, I don't either, and I really don't care. I'm finally going to start a new life and stop being Mrs. Hank." Gina hugs me. "Yes, friend, enjoy all the big things life has in store." I can't help it and let out a huge laugh. "You're crazy, Gina, but that's how I love you." "You better." I spend most of the day with Gina and her family. When my niece and nephew arrive, they're happy to see their Aunt Loren, and I'm delighted to be with them. I go to my mother's house very late and head straight to bed. My nephews are beautiful, but they left me quite exhausted. In the morning, my phone wakes me up very early. "Hello." "Loren, it's Beth. I have the papers ready for the apartment." "Hi Beth. Which apartment?" "Mr. Parker made me a good offer and told me you agreed. You just need to come sign, and I'll give you the keys." "Beth, but this is crazy. That's not an apartment, it's a penthouse." "Well, if I were you, I'd take advantage of the opportunity. They don't always come along." "I don't know. I don't think the amount of money I have is enough." "Come on Loren, cheer up and come sign. He agrees with the price." "But that would be a loss of money for him." "Maybe, but he made it very clear that he's only giving you this price. And guess what?" "What?" "He's going to leave it furnished for you." "Let me call him." I look for Cameron's phone number in the employee list and call him. "Yes?" "Hi Cameron, it's Loren." "Hi Loren, I'm glad to hear from you. Are you calling to finish what we have pending?" "Unfortunately not." "That's too bad." "I'm calling because I just spoke with my agent, and she says the contract is ready." "That sounds good." "Cameron, I don't want you to lose money on this sale because of me. Plus, the furniture it has is very expensive. I don't feel comfortable." "Come on Loren, accept it. There's nothing wrong with me trying to help you a little. Besides, I'm not giving you anything for free, you're going to pay for everything." "Cameron, you know perfectly well that the price you're giving me is not what it's worth." I hear a little girl's voice talking to him. "Cameron, I'm sorry. You're busy, and I'm taking up your time." "Oh no, don't say that. You're never wasting my time. How about I invite you to lunch, and we talk about the apartment?" "Okay, where shall we meet?" "I'll send you the address, and I'll wait for you here." "Alright." I hang up and take a shower. I put on a comfortable dress and a little makeup. My hair only needs a bit of moisturizing cream and it looks good. "Hello dear, where are you going?" "I'm going to lunch with Cameron, Mom. We need to talk about the apartment." "Honey, that boy is very handsome and very nice. I really liked him, nothing like that, Dumbett." "Oh Mom, stop calling him that." "Never, honey. Have a great time and enjoy yourself. The body needs some TLC." "Mom, it sounds like I'm listening to Gina." "Well, honey, I'm sorry, but it's the truth. It shows that you haven't had a good dose of maintenance in a long time." "I'm leaving. I don't want to keep hearing obscenities." My mom smiles knowingly. "In case you're not coming back, let me know." "Mom!!" It can't be. Did my mother and Gina conspire together? Although deep down, just remembering Cameron n***d gives me hot flashes. When I arrive at the address he sent me, I'm a bit surprised it's a fast food restaurant. I enter, and he's sitting there, engrossed in eating a hamburger. He's dressed casually in denim pants and a blue shirt that brings out his eyes. I think he senses how I'm devouring him with my gaze because he turns to look at me and smiles. He approaches and gives me a kiss on the lips. "Hello, my Little Red Riding Hood." "Little Red Riding Hood?" "Yes, I can't get you out of my mind in that red dress, and I literally turn into a wolf eager to devour you." I blush and he bursts out laughing. "Cameron, you can't go around saying those things to me." "Why not? What's stopping me?" "Shame, though I doubt you're acquainted with the concept." We sit at a small table, still laughing. Suddenly, the little girl I saw with him in the airport parking lot approaches us. She has blue eyes like him, but her hair is darker. "Daddy, I got a little scrape." He examines her carefully. "My princess, it's nothing serious." "Put something on it, Daddy, please. It hurts." I approach her. "Hello little one, will you let me take a look?" "Yes, who are you?" Cameron smiles at her. "This is my friend Loren." "I'm Zoe." "Nice to meet you, Zoe. I have a puppy-themed bandage. Would you like me to put it on?" Her face lights up. "Yes, I love puppies, but my mom won't buy me one. She says they're very dirty." I put the bandage on her, and she gets up very happily and goes back to play. "So, puppy-themed bandages, huh? And here I was thinking you were an adult." I burst out laughing. "Well, I have two godchildren whom I adore and they love puppy-themed bandages. I can't help it." "You really like children, don't you?" "Yes." "If you don't mind me asking, why didn't you have any with Barnett?" I sigh before answering him. "At first we tried, but it didn't happen, and then because he stopped touching me." "Some men are truly born idiots." "Well, but you invited me to eat. Where are my burger and fries?" He smiles and quickly goes to place the order. In a while, he returns with my hamburger. "Cameron, I can't accept your apartment." "Loren, don't be so stubborn." "I've never needed anyone to buy my things, and to be honest, when Barnett bought something, he wouldn't stop showing off. Maybe that's why I prefer a simpler life." He blushes slightly. "Well, what if you sign the contract, and then we make an agreement between us for you to pay what you think is missing?" "And if I don't pay you?" "Well, I can accept all kinds of payments, say, a night of passion." "One can't have a serious conversation with you." He winks at me. "And are you going to Aspen now?" "No, I have to drop Zoe off with her mother, and then I'm going to stay at the apartment tonight, if you don't mind, since it'll be yours. Although you can stop by to give me the down payment for the apartment." I roll my eyes. "You're impossible." "So, are you going to sign?" "Yes, I'll stop by the agency right away to bring the check and pick up the keys." "Do you want me to help you move?" "I have a few boxes. Actually, I didn't take anything from Barnett's apartment. Most of the things he bought, and I didn't really like them." "Perfect. How about you come with me to drop Zoe off, and we go sign together?" "Okay, if afterward you accompany me to buy some things to decorate it." "As long as you're not one of those women who spend hours in stores." "No, actually I don't like shopping, but I want to add some details to the apartment to feel more familiar with it." "Alright, I'll go call Zoe." We leave my car at the restaurant and go in his truck to Zoe's mom's house. It's in a very exclusive area and it's beautiful. "Loren, I hope you can join us for a walk another time with my daddy and me." "Of course, little one. See you later." She gives me a kiss happily and goes out with her dad. A maid opens the door for them and the girl gives Cameron a kiss and goes into the house. Cameron returns a bit sad. "Having shared custody is very difficult, although for my work it's best for Zoe." "I can imagine." "Zoe's mom was my best friend, we got along very well. One night she came into my room and I couldn't reject her. We tried to have a relationship, but it didn't work out, and before we ended it, she got pregnant. At that moment, she changed a lot and everything became material things for her. She got angry because I didn't want to get married and although at first she wouldn't let me see Zoe, my sister helped me with that." I take his hand and he smiles. "Why didn't we meet before?" "Because it wasn't the right time." "You're right." We arrive at the agency and everything happens very quickly. Before I know it, I having the keys to my new apartment had been a dream. Cameron accompanies me to the stores, and I'm surprised to learn that we have very similar tastes. We buy some things to decorate the apartment, and he tries to pay, but I don't allow it. "I can't believe how stubborn you are." He tells me while loading the bags of things we bought. "I already told you, I like being independent." "Well, we have some time. Do you want me to help you take the boxes to the apartment?" "Hey, weren't you going to stay and sleep there?" "Yes, that's what I had planned, but it doesn't matter. I can go to a hotel tonight." "No way. You're staying there and tomorrow you'll help me move." "I have a better idea." "What?" "Let's go to your house and get your things, and then we'll go to the apartment and settle some unfinished business." I get nervous just imagining it. "We have a flight tomorrow night. You can't stay up late. Remember we'll be away for almost a month." "Yes, I know. Besides, I have to go to Aspen to sort out some things before leaving." "See?" He comes closer and gives me a kiss. "It's your fault. I have you near me and I can't think of anything else but undressing you." "Cameron!!" If only he knew I feel the same way, or even worse. "Alright, I won't say my thoughts out loud anymore." "I hope so. Then let's go pick up my things and after that you'll go to Aspen to rest." He pouts. "Only because you're right. I need to rest for the upcoming flights." We will go to pick up my car and arrive at my mother's house. She and Hector are sitting outside drinking lemonade. "Hello Cameron, it's nice to see you again. Would you like some lemonade?" Cameron smiles and approaches to greet them. My mother immediately pulls him close and gives him a kiss on the cheek. She's definitely won him over. While they are chatting, I go to collect my boxes. I'm very engrossed when Cameron enters. "So this is your single girl's room." "Yes, something like that." "I like how I can discover your personality just by looking at your room." "Oh really, and according to you, what am I like?" "You're a very simple, brave, enterprising, self-sufficient, and very beautiful woman." I get a lump in my throat from the way he's looking at me. "You learned all that by looking at my room?" "No, actually I knew it from the first time I saw you." He comes closer and surprises me when he starts kissing me. I lose myself in his arms when we hear a throat clearing at the door that makes us separate. "Daughter, congratulations on your apartment. Do you need help?" "I don't think so, mom." "Oh, but of course you do. Hector, come and help us carry the boxes. My daughter is moving into her apartment today, and a luxurious one at that." Cameron smiles and we finish packing together. No matter how much Cameron insisted to my mother that we could handle everything, she didn't accept and she and Hector comes in their car to help us. We arrive and start unloading everything. Hector brings some groceries and starts cooking while we arrange everything. Cameron takes every opportunity to give me quick kisses. "The food is ready." Hector shouts from the kitchen. We sit down and enjoy delicious pasta. "Hector, I'm surprised. You cook so well, I would never have imagined it." My mother smiles at him affectionately. "That's why I fell in love with him. He won me over with his delicious dishes." Cameron smiles and stands up. "Well, I have to go. I have a rather long trip ahead of me, and it's getting late." He says goodbye to my mother and Hector while I walk him to the door. He takes the keys out of his pocket. "I have a copy, and although I'd like to keep it, I know it's not the right thing to do." I take it and ponder for a moment. The truth is, I'd like to let him keep it, but I want to take my time. He gives me a kiss on the lips and leaves. I return to the kitchen and my mom and Hector are in high spirits. "Daughter, I like this boy more and more each day." "Me too, Mom." "Although I don't know why I feel like I've seen him before. He has an air of wealth about him." "Yes, sometimes I think so too, but if he were a millionaire, he wouldn't need to work as a pilot." "Maybe he earns very well." "Yes, he earns well, but sometimes I think his clothes are much more expensive. Just look at this apartment." "Well, daughter, don't jump to conclusions. He seems very decent, and I'm happy to see how he treats you. He is a gentleman, unlike that Dumbarnett you were married to." Hector smiles. "Well, Loren, if you need anything, just let us know." "Thank you, Hector, for everything. The dinner was delicious." I give them a hug and walk them to the door. They leave, and I turn to look at the apartment. The truth is I'm happy. It's beautiful. It has three bedrooms each with its own bathroom, it has a beautiful view, the main bathroom has a jacuzzi tub, the kitchen is huge and fully equipped. My eyes fill with tears, but this time they're tears of happiness. I make some changes, not too drastic, because I love the decor, but I want to feel more at home. When I finally finish, I'm thrilled with the result. I'm tempted to try out the tub for the first time, but I have to go to bed because it's very late. It's nearly daybreak, and I'm back to work tonight.
