Chapter Twenty-Five Carol’s house was completely dark, as the three friends arrived in her neighborhood. Stepping out of Mary’s car, Johnnie buried his nose in his jacket. Curiosity grew within him, as he tried to understand what had been going on. “Where the hell is everybody?” Sean wondered, stopping just before the pathway. “Quit nagging.” Johnnie urged, brushing past him. Just when he was about to knock on his mother’s front door, he noticed that it was partially open.
