Elena barely slept that night.
The photograph lay beside her bed, reminding her that everything she believed about her childhood might have been a lie.
The next morning, she decided to find out who Adrian Blackwood really was.
She searched his name online.
Adrian Blackwood was the wealthy CEO of Blackwood Enterprises. Powerful, private, and almost impossible to find information about. There were barely any details about his personal life.
“Who are you?” Elena whispered.
Suddenly, Sophie walked into the room.
“What are you searching?”
Elena quickly closed her laptop.
“Nothing important.”
Sophie smiled, but something about her expression felt strange.
Later that afternoon, Elena received another message from an unknown number.
STOP LOOKING FOR ADRIAN.
Her heart began racing.
Before she could respond, another message appeared.
You have no idea what your father left behind.
Elena froze.
Her father.
How could a stranger know about him?
She immediately called the number.
It was switched off.
Across the city, Adrian stood inside his office, staring through the window.
Marcus (Adrian bodyguard) approached him.
“She received the message.”
Adrian's expression darkened.
“Who sent it?”
“We don't know.”
Adrian slowly turned around.
For the first time, his calm expression disappeared.
“Find them before Elena does.”
Because someone was trying to uncover the truth.
And if they succeeded, Elena wouldn't just discover Adrian's secret.
She would discover why her father disappeared.
