PROLOGUE: THE WEIGHT OF WAIT
Ezrael’s POV
“Ezrael, do you take Isa for your lawful wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?”
I cannot think right, a lot is going on my head. Why am I here on the altar with a girl I barely know?
My Alessia, I can see her at the back of the bride, crying, I hate seeing her cry.
She should be the one standing beside me.
I don’t want to marry, Isa.
I’m meant for Alessia, the girl of my dreams, my soulmate, my love, and my life.
I faced Isa with full determination.
“I am really sorry but, I don’t think this is right. I am not meant for you. I can’t marry you, I already have someone in my heart and no one could actually replace her. I’m sorry.”
I let go of her hand, run towards Alessia, “I love you, you know that.”
Wiped away her tears, caress her face and kissed her on the lips.
I pulled away, “I don’t care what other people think, let’s run away together.”
I grabbed her hand and run away. Heading towards the church door, I can hear Isa shouting my name.
I don’t care, I won’t look back, I’m running away with the girl that I love, and that’s all that matters.
