Evelyn After my last failed escape attempt, I don’t let myself believe I’ve succeeded as the lycan town disappears behind me. I’ll allow that only when I walk through my parents’ door. As it turns out, I’m managing my expectations very realistically because I’ve only taken one step beyond the tree line separating the town from the forest when a pair of hands appear out of nowhere and grab me.
