ABBIE'S POV
I made my way out of my room as quietly as I could. I don't want to disturb the people here. Although there's not much people here. My room is located at the 2nd floor of our house, at the West wing, so I need to go down the flight of stairs to get to the front door. My family is quite rich. My mother and father are both surgeon and they work in the hospital owned by my mother's parents.
My older brother, Asher, is currently helping my paternal grandfather in managing their business. Unfortunately, my father has no interest in running a company. He always wanted to be in the field of medicine. Thankfully, my brother got my grandfather's businessman blood. After he graduated from business course in college last year, my grandfather immediately trained him to be his successor.
While me, is currently in summer vacation before Senior High. As you already know, I was home-schooled ever since I can remember. Sierra said that High School is the best part of your teenage years. But I cannot fully experience this without mingling and socializing with people around my age except Sierra. Because of that, I wished for my seventeenth birthday to go in a normal school like a normal kid. That is why I will travel to my Sigford to continue my High School years there.
When I got down from the stairs, I immediately hear the doorbell ringing. I fasten my pace to the door so as to open the door quickly. I know that would be Sierra since the guard will call my parents if there would be another person other than her. Besides, Sierra is the only person who come here unannounced.
Don't shout. Other persons are still sleeping." I immediately said after I open the door to cut her off from talking so loud. Her excitement has no rest. I mean, it's still dawn for pete's sake!
As a response, she made a zipping gesture to her mouth. She comes inside and I closed the door after. I noticed that she's still wearing her pajamas and the box she's holding. It's quite small but enough to carry it in one hand. She noticed that I am looking at the box.
"This box contains something I want you to take with you. Sort of like a parting gift." She explained.
"Let's go quickly to my room and open it."
We made our way to my room. Once inside my room, she immediately went to the balcony where there's a set of couches and a coffee table. She sat on the couch and placed the box in the coffee table. As I'm curious too, I went to sit beside her and look at it. There, she took out a small box out of the box and opened it. Earrings!
"Here. I saw this while I was shopping last week." It's a white gold plated rose flower ear studs with small diamond at its center.
"The saleslady said it symbolizes good luck and a new beginning. I just though it would a perfect gift to you since I want you to enjoy this moment of your life. And I've got a matching set so it's like a bestfriend earrings kind of thing." She added.
I looked at her and smiled. "I'm so lucky that you happened to be my one and only friend. Thank you so much for this, Sierra."
"Aweeee. Don't make me cry today. It's the exact opposite of what we're supposed to do." We both laughed. "It's you who started it."
And we spent the remaining hours reminiscing all our memories together. I'm certain I'm going to miss all these talks with her.
