Chapter 16

Let’s go! I have 2 kills already from the start of the game, although the smoke from the smoke grenade still not subsides and it is becoming more and more thicker as time passes by. I still fear that my battle with that player draws more enemy to me, but I will not fear that much since the smoke will protect me from any clear shots.

Oh, there is only 30 seconds left before the storm closes in, it’s an area where the player’s health bar will be depleted continuously unless they enter the safe zone, each time the ring closes the players must hurry to the new ring that is getting tinier and tinier each time it appears. Also each time the ring shrinks the danger zone is getting more dangerous for the players and the faster their health will deplete if they are caught with it.

I have no reason to worry about the danger zone since I am inside the first ring and I hope that the second ring appears nearby the station. I exit the smoke since I don’t want to take my chances waiting inside of it, enemies might be waiting for me there and that is a bad situation to be in. I healed myself once I left that house and shelter myself on a nearby boulder. It took me a minute to bring myself back at full health, and there is this thing called “Armor pads” that I picked up earlier.

I wonder what this do.

I clicked on it in inventory tab and there it loads out just like what my medkit does when I pressed on it to heal myself. Will it give me armor? I wonder, since this is the first time, I encountered armor pads in battle royale games. It took 7 seconds to complete its process.

I don’t see any extra health bar, I scratched myself in the head since I don’t have any clue what an armor pad does- oh gotta wonder for that later. I heard gunshots nearby and that means there are multiple enemies in this area, the survivor count kept decreasing and decreasing. But the main challenge here is that, when the survivor counts decrease it will not be easier for me, but it does the opposite.

The more the survivors kept falling, the more it will be harder for us. Why? The main reason of this game is the survival of the fittest, those who are really made for gaming are the ones winning this game, and I will make sure that I am one of those bunch who are winning this game, I won’t allow myself just to fall that quickly. 

The gunshots stopped and peeked from the boulder where I am hiding and I saw no one. It’s safe now I guess, I observed the are before going out to not panic once I encounter a challenge. I saw a big three that could give me cover when an enemy spots me. The kill counter which is loaded with notifications earlier were empty. The survivor count was stuck on 42. The ring is pretty big and the remaining 42 must be camping on their own houses.

There is a lot at stake here that’s why I understand why they are playing it safe. Just one wrong move, they can see the GRX9090 card waving its goodbye at them, as well as for me. So I need to play it safe right now.

I managed to run directly to the big three that I saw earlier. I crouched to hide myself in the tall grasses in this field. I saw on the map that the next area in my location is the farmland, that’s why I see many tall grasses.

“That card is mine,” I heard a voice and a laughter. It’s a man and the voice gives me some creepy vibes from it, that it sends shivers to my body. Not the afraid shivering, but disgust shivering, why would I be scared at the first place? Plus what he said pisses me off.

Well, I do wonder where that guy might have been. Is the game playing me? I should be not hearing my enemies’ voice comms, or is the game really playing us? It could be this game has a natural, voice proximity feature, and this guy is not well aware of it, I could give my thanks to him since he warned me.

Hmm, he’s on the bad side of luck this time, if I can hear him, it means that I am extremely nearby to him. Voice proximity chat works like in real life, where a person is nearby and speaking, I can hear them but if they are far away I cannot. Thumbs up to the developers of this game, well I do remember that they mentioned that this game will make us feel like we are in a battle field.

Then a footstep cue sensor was triggered and the it’s just on the other side of this boulder, I guess I have to be quiet as the game continues if I don’t want to be hunted like what I am doing to this guy. He continues on laughing not aware that I can hear this guy.

I crouch walk to not trigger any sound cues and that limits the chances that he can hear my movements. I waited until I am sure that this guy is pretty far away from me and I walked outside from my hiding and-

“Got you b***h!” he’s there pointing his gun from me but the jokes is on him I am holding a shotgun in case he is luring me out. He fired a couple of bullets to me and that really hurt but thanks to my armor the damage was reduced. I only two shotted him with my shot gun and there a notification appeared in my screen.

You killed MyNiNiBig.

I heard a man shout from frustration and I did not waste my time to turn around to him since my top priority is on escaping this area as soon as possible if I don’t want any enemies catching me here. 3 kills and counting, a smile formed in my lips but I don’t to get big headed right now.

I collected loots from his dropped loot bag when I killed him and there, I saw a sniper rifle that can one shot any enemies from afar. I replaced my shotgun with it, since this will be more useful on scouting enemies from afar. My assault rifle is high leveled than his so I ignored it. I grabbed a couple of medkits and a couple of armor pads. Sniper rifle ammo and as well as assault rifle ammo. I grabbed some adrenaline shots and there I dropped my shotgun shells since I swapped weapon.

I can only carry three weapons, two ranged guns of my choices and a pistol or a knife in case I lose ammo. I wonder if there are shields that I can swap with it like other battle royale games. I saw a barn from far away but the path ahead is scary as I saw tall crops covering the field.

My vision will be so blurry, because of the tall crops and this place will be full of surprises. I hope I can avoid those surprises because I don’t want any surprises, especially in this game because that would literally give me a heart attack and so much frustration.

I took a deep breath before I dive right through the tall grasses in the fields and I switch on my assault rifle and I want to regret that I did not drop my shotgun earlier but there is no going back. Hopefully I am very lucky this time.

I saw a supply box dropping from the sky, supply boxes mean business in this kind of games. From my experience on battle royale games, where supply boxes drop, there is always war happening on that place. It’s impossible that people who see this box will not go for it, as well as for me. Winning the war on those boxes has a big impact on winning chances of a player that has skills that can had its hand on those supplies.

It contains powerful weapons, and I am sure that it contains the most powerful guns in the meta as well as max level equipment like armors. Just he level 3 armor is a game changer because it drastically reduces any incoming damage from the enemies. I hope there is one in the supply box.

It’s not only once where supply box drops in this map, I am sure of it. There will be a couple of supply boxes in the map one at a time. I am one of the nearby players on that box and if I am lucky, hopefully, I am the first one reaching that box and I can hoard the supply without enemies reaching me.

Well that’s the most ideal situation in this moment, but who knows what might happen, plus I have ideas in mind that will help me win that supplies. I gotta win that contest. I must, whatever is the cost I must.

Thankfully I did not encounter any enemies in the crops and the supply box dropped on the middle of two barns as I can see it in my mini map. There is a flare that rise up to the skies so many people can see it. It’s one of their gimmicks for players not avoid battle when the map is still large.

I gotta say that it is very effective, I wonder if that tall guy is not eliminated from the game. I hope he is not since I want to fight him one on one. Well, he has some nerdy vibes to him, so he has high chances from becoming one of the top 20 winning the first round.

I emerged from the tall grasses and luck is on my side as I am in the high grounds perfect for my sniper and I have a perfect view from below there. I dropped down and switched to my sniper. I have the best plan in mind.
