“Kuro, prepare the weapons!” Yamato ordered his men as they prepare for yet another attack of them to break the energy field that surrounds the whole island. They are not entirely sure if their children are still alive.
They formed a temporary true with the Smiths so they can work together to destroy the energy field. Yamato himself is the one that presented the plan and Smith quickly accepted his plan.

The ones who are behind the attack are successful as they have done multiple casualties but Kuro and some of his men managed to run away before the missiles hit the ground that’s why they escaped before the energy barrier was formed
