CHAPTER 3/ THE ALPHA'S STAND

442 Words
Ryker sat at the other side of the table with his right leg crossed on the other and his hands resting on the table. His eyes gleamed with a fierce intensity as he faced the kael. Kael on the other hand felt a sense of fear sweep over him, it was rare for Ryker to visit him like this, he would have just sent a message through one of his pack wolves. Him being here in person meant trouble. "I presume this visit should be about something this urgent that the almighty alpha himself had to come all the way here for a meeting with me" he said with a hint of sacrasm in his voice. "perhaps I could offer you some drink since you came here in person, let me entertain you" he added with an evil laughter. "I haven't come here for entertainment or anything, you seem to be overstepping your boundaries and I just wanted to let you know" Ryker finally spoke with a hint of anger in his voice. Kael raised an eyebrow, his pale skin seeming to glow in the faint light. "And why should I heed your warning, Ryker? You are no friend to our kind." Ryker's jaw clenched, but his tone remained steady. "Because, Kael, I know that your thirst for blood and power will only lead to destruction. The humans are not weak, and they will fight back. And if they discover our existence, it will mean war. A war that will endanger both our species." Kael sneered, his fangs glinting. "You worry too much, Ryker. We will not be threatened by the humans. We will conquer them, and they will be our prey." Ryker's eyes narrowed, his gaze piercing. "I know your ambition, Kael. But I also know that there are those among the humans who are not to be underestimated." Kael's smile faltered, and for a moment, Ryker saw a glimmer of doubt in his eyes. But then, kael's mask slipped back into place, and he laughed, a cold, mirthless sound. Ryker's expression remained calm, but his eyes flashed with a hint of warning. He fixed Kael with an angry stare, his eyes blazing with a fierce intensity that made Kael's heart race with fear. For a moment, the two enemies locked eyes, the tension between them palpable. Then, with a snarl, Ryker turned and walked away, his broad shoulders and imposing figure disappearing into the shadows. Kael breathed a sigh of relief, his heart still racing from the encounter. He knew that he had just been given a warning, and he knew that he had just been reminded of Ryker's power.
