CHAPTER TWENTY FOUR Stella headed to the precinct’s front desk. Angry shouts resounded from Cassidy’s interview room. She could tell the detectives were having a hard time as they began taking her details. Luckily there were other interview rooms further down the corridor that she could use. “Can I have a phone, please?” she asked. The desk sergeant handed Stella a phone and she walked to the furthest interview room and closed the door. This would be her last piece of work on the case, and she had to admit, it felt like an anticlimax after the adrenaline rush of bringing Cassidy in, and the tension of that interview with her.
