Chapter 11: Unexpected Events

Anne's P.O.V.

''O.M.G. I didn't know that Gill had a girlfriend,'' Zyreel said. Since I don't want Gill to interrupt his meeting with that girl, we leave them alone.

''Maybe she is not his girlfriend,'' Jenlyn said. I scrolled down on my phone. Maybe not, maybe yes. Whatever it is, it's not my business anymore. After all, Gill and I are just friends.

''You okay, Annie?'' I came to my senses when Jenlyn asked me. I nod as a response. But they are not convinced. ''Yes, I'm fine, why?'' she just shrugged as her response.

''Yeah, Jenlyn, maybe she is just a friend. So where are we going, Annie? Do you want to come to our house?'' Zyreel asked.

*Annie's ringtone*

I look at my phone to know who is calling. Lovely? Oh, the one that I encountered in the coffee shop. I have no news about her. I almost forgot about her because of what happened to me these past few days. I wonder why she is calling ''Wait for Zy. Let me answer this call.'

''Sure, go on.''

'' Lovely?''

[Oh Hi Anne, I am here in the coffee shop and suddenly I remember you. Come, join me here, my treat.]

''Just drop me on that street, Zy. I have somewhere else to go, maybe next time?'' I said to Zyreel, and they stopped the car.

''Call us when you are home, okay?'' Jenlyn said. I nod.

''Yes, Lovely. I'm on my way there.''

[Okay, Annie, See you!'']

I'm on my way to the coffee shop thinking about why she's inviting me. As I remember, Lovely is the one I accidentally met because she would have been in an accident if I hadn't grabbed her. Thankfully, I encountered her. Maybe she wanted to thank me for what I did. I felt terrible for Zyreel and Jenlyn because I left them, but I immediately texted them that I had something to do. They said it was okay. She said that they also have something to do. They are just worried about me because of what happened earlier. I don't know why they are concerned about seeing Gill with another girl. As I am on my way to Lovely, I feel that someone is following me. I don't know if I am exaggerating what I think right now, but I know something is off. I walk as fast as I can. I am in the back of the coffee shop, and I can see his shadow from my peripheral vision. I get scared as I hear his foot's steps following me.

''Annie!'' I immediately ran towards Lovely as I bumped her outside the coffee shop. I release the air into my lungs as I calm myself.

''What happened? You look pale!'' She said. I looked at my back, but he was gone. Lovely, also look in the direction of what I am looking, and she looks at me.

''Shh, calm down. I am here with you. Let's go to our house.'' She supports me by encouraging me to go to her car. I was looking at my surroundings, but I didn't see him. Why is he following me?

SOMEONE'S P.O.V

[What happened?] That was too close. I forgot to silent my phone, and I think Annie knows that I am following her.

''I'm sorry, boss, but I lost her. I saw her with someone else, a tall long white-gold haired woman, and I still had a chance to follow their car, if you want it, boss. .'' I said.

[No, don't follow them. Just wait for Annie at her apartment later, and you do your job.] Does it mean that I will stay up all night to wait for her? I hate my job. If it doesn't pay for considerable money, I won't accept it.

''Yes, boss, copy.'' I ended the call. I look at my surroundings and fix my cap, and I don't want anyone to notice me. Maybe I should wait at the shop near to her apartment. I think she will be home late.

Annie's P.O.V

''Mom, I'm home!'' I am now calm when we arrive at Lovely's house, and their house is very aesthetic. I love the ambiance.

''Oh dear, you are early. You should call me-- Oh, we have a guest.'' I smiled at her. She is the doctor who took care of me when I rescued Lovely from the accident.

''Hello, good afternoon Dr. Avida'' I said, and she smiled back.

''Oh, please call me Tita Avida, since you are not new to me and, of course, how will I forget the one that rescued my daughter? You sit there, and I will prepare our food. Since Lovely didn't call me, we will have to accompany this day, sorry for that.''

'' Oh no, Tita Avida, no worries. I am the one who says sorry, since I am the one who bothers you.''

''Again, Annie, you are not new to me. No worries. You can visit our house as much as you like, so if you may excuse me.

Just tell Lovely if you need anything.''

''Yes, tita, thank you!'' I said, and Lovely smiled at me.

''Come on, we should wait in my room. Since mom will take a long time to prepare food.'' I followed her, and we are now taking the stairs up to her room. Their house is so big that I can't memorize the direction.

''Your house is so big!'' I said to her, and she just laughed as I entered her room. Her room is so simple but there are lots of vintage CDs of different country music and lots of books. An introvert room,

but she doesn't look like one.

''Here, you may sit anywhere you like'' I sit on the mini couch she has. At first, it looked like a mini room, but it looked like a house when I went inside. There's a mini sofa, a mini refrigerator and a television.

''I forgot, thank you for what you did earlier, Lovely,'' I said.

''About what happened earlier. I knew it. Someone is following you. Do you have any idea who that is or who will do that to you?'' Lovely said, and I've been thinking up until now about who that is. I don't have any names on my mind. But I am getting more scared out of it. Maybe he is just a stalker from school or what? Whatever it is, it's my first time experiencing this. ''...or maybe he knew that you were Guillaume?'' I was stunned by what she said. ''...Maybe he also had something to do with your parent's death.'' Now I'm scared. She has a point, and the mere fact that she knows all about this.

''How did you know that? I mean, how did it come to your mind?'' I said. She gave me a folder with lots of my pictures from when I was a child and some newspaper cuts. All of it is about my mom and dad's death investigation.

''Before we knew each other, I loved reading some mystery books that led me to watch some documentaries about criminal investigations. Because I want to be a detective someday, and now that's what my work is. I shouldn't tell you about this since this is my job, but I don't want you to become your mom and dad.'' She showed up more papers related to my mom's and dad's death.

''I've known your mom ever since. I was an apprentice when your mom came to our station. She wanted us to investigate what happened to your dad.'' I didn't even know about my dad's murder since I was a seven-year-old girl when that day happened.

''I don't want to tell you more, but I'll help you since I owe you my life. Starting today, you will tell me where you are or who you were with, especially when you feel that a stranger has followed you. You got it?'' I nodded. I felt that this was too much to handle, and I am scared that Zyreel and Jenlyn will be involved in my situation right now.

''I am concerned about my grandma, Zyreel and Jenlyn. And I do not live in the house of Guillaume. I am now living in an apartment near school.''

''Why don't you live in this house so that I can protect you'' Isn't this too fast to handle? Why, all of a sudden, I just found out about my parents' deaths.

''Can I go to your bathroom first? I need to wash my face.'' Lovely smile at me ''Sure, after you left my room and just turned left, the last door was the bathroom.''

I went outside, and as Lovely said, I turned left and the last door in the bathroom. This house is so big that it took me 4 minutes to go to the bathroom. I found the bathroom, and I immediately washed my face. I noticed that I was amazed by their house when Guillaume's house was also like that, but two times bigger since, Tita Lavinia wanted to expand the house more. The good thing is that I have my own room and bathroom. I finished washing my face, and I opened the door suddenly. My brain flashback. I remember going outside my room because I had a nightmare that night. I was walking down the stairs when I saw a man

wearing a black suit, talking to Tita Lavinia. I hold one of the walls beside the bathroom because I feel dizzy and hear a voice towards me.

''ANNIE!'' What is he doing here?

''Kyo'' suddenly everything turns black.
