13 ~ The Big DayBzzzt! My alarm went off at 6 am, jolting me from a nightmare plagued with police officers and Bobby’s henchmen. I sat up in my bed and pulled my hair from the base of my sweat soaked neck. It was only a nightmare but my arms still shook with adrenaline.
My phone vibrated loudly on my bedside table, making me jump. Taking a deep breath, I reached over to see a message from Aiden.
Hey Bonnie, today’s the day. I’m picking you up at 7am. No arguments—Clyde
A small chuckle slipped out of my sleep hoarse throat.
Hang on … was Aiden suggesting that we were a couple? There was no doubt things between us had become confusing, but every time we got close Aiden was quick to shut it down.
