Chapter 21.

“Hmmm” I stirred my body feeling heavy and weak. I opened my eyes little by little squinting every time because of the light. Slowly I lifted my hand to my head feeling something tug against myLk arm. Finally opening my eyes a little more I noticed I was hooked up to an IV bag. “Ugh! What the” pausing for a second my eyes grew wide with shock “oh my god I can talk I can talk” I said happily to myself. Happily sighing I relaxed “so that means I'm not in that place with Samael anymore,” I said to myself (no not anymore but I'm still here) Samael's voice echoed (I've always been here actually) Samuels' voice sounded again. Turning around I looked all over the room trying to see where he was. Not seeing him I was stumped “Um Samael where are you? I can't see you,” I said aloud (I'm everywhere) Samael said as he chuckled “say what! What do you mean by that?” I asked confused (when I died my body dispersed into the air going everywhere. To the ground, in the air, plants, Animals, even your minds this way I can help you) he explained “wait so you're in everyone’s heads” I asked weirded out making Samael laugh. (No just you, Sophie, Malakie, your parents, Luke, Katherine, and Jack) Samael explained “oh so do you talk to them to” I asked (I've talked to Jack but that was when I first entered his mind other than just you...for know that is) he confirmed making me laugh a bit. “Hm so the sparkles that came from your body...no it was you. your body turned into the sparkles I saw and dispersed everywhere into my friends and families minds, into the plants, air, everything” I stated (indeed my body turned into what you call sparkles and spread to everything and everyone) Samael agreed. “Hm I don't know if I should be worried that someone else is in their minds or be more at ease knowing you're still here” I chuckled (yes well I am in fact still dead I just turned into matter) Samael explained “well I'm talking to you right now and that to me is what I mean by still alive” I explained back (yes but I am dead) Samael said again confused “in my opinion you're still with me, talking to me and as long as I remember you then that's you being alive because just because I can't see or talk to a dead loved one. As long as I remember them they are still alive with me, well at least to me” I explained Samael staying silent “what cat got your tongue” I laughed (no a cat can not touch it's scientifically impossible) Samael explained “yea I know it was...ah never mind it doesn't matter” I said giving up. “Jasmine your awake,” a voice said sighing happily. Looking up I see Sophie my best friend come in holding a cup of coffee as she closed the door. Probably a cappuccino with extra foam just how she likes it but it smelled stronger than usual. Looking at her calm but tired face I could tell she had been up for a while. “Hey Sophie” I finally said as I gave her a sideways smile “you had me so worried. You had everyone worried” Sophie said setting her cup on the counter, rushing over engulfing me in a tight hug. Hugging her back just as tight ignoring the pain in my head and chest that was now starting to pulsate. Honestly I didn't care. I was just happy to see Sophie “so why am I here this time I can't really remember everything that happened” I asked “are you for real” Sophie asked shocked. “Yea all I remember was pain in my head and chest then collapsing, then darkness” I explained “seriously...that's crazy, you're horrible” Sophie said weirded out “yea so what happened” I asked “oh well when you didn't go home Malakie called my Mom asking if you were over at my house you weren't. He said you hadn’t come home yet so your mom and dad were freaking out worrying while looking for you. As for Malakie you know how he is so he was freaking out but wasn't telling anyone. So I suggested we call Jack and Luke to check if they heard from you or had seen you and surprisingly enough Jack said he saw you near the park. He said y'all talked for a bit before you ran off saying you were going home but you didn't go home. So all of us went out to different places to look for you. Then Malakie called saying that he got a call from y'alls mom and dad saying you were brought into the hospital unconscious by someone. So we all raced here to find you already in a room being taken care of” Sophie explained obviously upset. “Do y'all know who brought me in” I asked cautiously “no they said it was confidential. They said the person who brought you in didn't stay for long. All they said was to take care of you and not to say who they were and I'll tell you that they’re doing a pretty good job at keeping it a secret. I mean they won't even let me look at the video cameras” Sophie wined “well it is a hospital and there's a code Sophie” I explained laughing. “Yea I know but I mean if they’re going to have Axis Systems IP Cameras to watch over the hospital they could at least help us out. I mean I know there are these new advancements in technology, and digital video monitoring progressing through a new phase. Just so Safety and Security are way better. Which means those AXIS IP cameras must be placed throughout the premises which allow safe and effective monitoring of unsupervised patients. They also look out for unauthorized visitors that may enter a restricted area or the hospital period. So the AXIS IP security cameras should be around every entrance and exit to capture the activity of those leaving and entering the premises like the man/women who saved you so they should at least let us see the man/woman's face. I mean geez I know there's something called a person consent but still” Sophie growled as she finally breathed. “Wow” I said amazed “what” she asked breathing as she turned towards me "nothing I just keep forgetting your high school major is Physical Device Security along with Computer Science and laws” I said chuckling. “Oh yea but hey aren't you majoring in Music?” Sophie asked as she laughed “oh well I'm trying too but I'm going to try and major in cardiopulmonary resuscitation or CPR training, then there's my Latin foreign language class, oh and then theirs business and economics, political science and philosophy, engineering, computer science, biology, psychology, Chemistry. English, History, Language, and Mathematics” I said counting. “Woah! I always forget that you're always too overly prepared” Sophie laughed “what I can't help it I mean before Samael fixed everything my Dad was dead, Malakie was gone, and Momma was sick dying of cancer remember” I said shrugging “I try not to” Sophie said serious “plus I have always been interested in all these things. So what if I'm overly prepared at least I'll be able to get a job anywhere." I laughed "Anyways so what if I can't meet the person who saved me” I said impassively “yeah but it makes me angry we can't” Sophie admitted. “So what they may have a good reason for not wanting us to know right” I said smiling “how do you always find the best in people? Even when it's the worst situations” Sophie laughed “it's a talent” I said laughing too. “So where are Malakie and the others” I asked looking at Sophie's face cautiously waiting “well Malakie, Luke, and Jack are all in the waiting room they haven't left since Sunday around midnight” Sophie affirmed. “For real talk about stubbornness” I half-heartedly laughed “yeah well it's sweet that they worry so much don’t you think” Sophie said smiling “yea well Malakie always worries about me but he's my brother so he has to as for Luke and Jack I can't figure them out I just don't get why they care so much. I mean before these past couple of months we didn't even know each other, let alone talk” I said confused “Jas, I love you but sometimes you are just...so dense” Sophie chuckled “what do you mean I'm dense” I defended. “Well first of all Malakie worries about you not only because he's your brother but because he loves you and no he doesn't half to do anything he doesn't want to. Second, the reason Jack worries, well it’s pretty obvious that he likes you like majorly, big time likes you. I mean geez it's so obvious I could scream. And third Luke worries about you because he cares just as simply as that(although I think he cares a little too much but at least he cares)” Sophie said smirking as she held up three fingers. “Ok ok I get it I'm dense sometimes but if I'm dense than you and Malakie are the king and queen of denseness” I gestured laughing “what do you mean,” Sophie asked Shockley confused “well first of all. You so obviously like him you always have ever since we were little but you still try to hide it. Third, he likes you too I mean he gets flustered just by hearing your name and he blushes like crazy while talking to you whether it be on the phone or in person. Fourth he asked you to the dance and you said yes I mean hello that's a dead give away and you say I'm dense” I said brutally honest. “Hey I know how I feel...” Sophie said before stopping herself “oh and how DO you feel” I asked making her blush a bright red. “Ok I'm done talking about this Jas I mean you’ve been out for two days and there's a lot to catch up on so...” Sophie said as she stood “WAIT TWO DAYS! I've been out for two day” I asked shocked “yea today would have been three” Sophie explained “Malakie, Luke and Jack have been here for three days and two nights without going home and getting some sleep or even getting a proper meal” I asked worriedly. “Yeah! I mean I would have stayed too but the doctor called me out and then the school principal called me to the school to deal with some other matters. Dance-related plus the principle wanted updates on how you were doing” Sophie explained. “You didn't need to stay none of you did. So don't worry about it I mean you had other stuff to worry about right?. Like helping me out while I was out, which you didn't half to do but still did and at least you slept. As for the guys, don't you think they should get some sleep if they are even eating” I asked worried. “Their fine it's like they’re taking shifts for who stays awake so if you wake up he wakes the other two up and I'm sure they haven't starved themselves these past two days I mean I have been keeping an eye on them” Sophie laughed nervously. “What about Momma and Daddy how’re they?” I asked “they were so freaked out that when they got here to see you asleep in the bed you're mom fell to the floor frozen while your dad's face was unreadable. I have never seen them like that before but it's understandable you had us all worried I mean you went from missing to found in the hospital” Sophie admitted. “Yea sorry about that” I apologized “it's fine as long as you're fine plus now you're fine right” Sophie said trying to brush it off when it clearly still upset her “yea I'm fine now...so have Momma and Daddy visited me.” I asked “yeah of course they have your parents there why wouldn't they? They come here like fifty times a day” Sophie laughed “really...CRAP! the dance, oh no I have like three maybe four days to get everything I need done” I said panicking. “Whoa Whoa! Jas it's fine, remember you have Vise President Vincent helping. He's actually been doing just that helping...like a lot I mean he already finished the paperwork you gave him to do so he’s been finding people to help with the dance preparations. He even got the whole student council in on it, Oh and my Mom said we could use the building as long as it's clean and in the same condition as when she got it so we'll start moving all the dance materials we already have there tomorrow.” Sophie explained “well...ok then” I said happily stunned “oh um hey Sophie can you go see when I can get out of here I really hate being in the hospital plus I need to get the boys to eat and sleep at least a little bit ya know” I asked playfully winking towards Sophie. “Ok ok, I'll go and find out when you can be released I'll also tell the boys that you're awake so they can relax for ya” Sophie said as she walked towards the door “thanks that's much easier than me telling the boys all at once. Hey, Sophie if you see Momma and Daddy can you tell them I need to see them” I asked seriously “yea everything ok?” Sophie asked worried “yea I just want to see them and let Momma relax” I explained giving Sophie a soft smile “yeah ok I'll get them for ya. I'll be back in a bit ok.” Sophie said walking out the door gently closing it shut. Sighing I laid back looking up at the ceiling as thoughts and questions raced through my head making it hurt more. (Do you have a plan for what you will say to your parents) Samuels voice suddenly echoed in my head. “It's not much of a plan but more of an idea” (and what is your idea) he asked indulged “I'm just going to ask them about when I was little. Get some answers that should have been answered long ago” I explained. (Sounds like you have a plan then) Samael stated “I don't know! Is it a plan I mean, should I ask? Will they even give me an answer? I mean what can I expect” I asked freaking out (it’ll be fine plus I'll be here to support you or try to anyways) Samael reassured me. “Ok if you say so...thanks Samael” I said taking a breath just to catch it when the door suddenly opened to show Momma and Daddies worried faces walking through the hospital room door. Silence fell over the room as Momma and Daddy stood there awkwardly watching me not knowing what to say or do. When suddenly Momma leaned towards me half smiling “how are you feeling Honey” she asked worried her voice finally breaking the silence “I feel fine now Momma. I really just want to go home if I'm being honest” I said honestly “well I'm glad you think you feel well enough to leave” Daddy laughed. “I don't just think so I know so. I've been asleep for like two, three days so I have enough energy to beat a lion” I laughed kiddingly “oh no, let's not do that sweetheart” Momma said cautiously “Momma I'm not really going to beat a lion. You don't half to worry I'm fine...truly” I said trying to comfort her “no you're not. Jasmine this is the fourth time you've ended up in the hospital” Daddy said sternly with worry. “Daddy, I'm fine I'm just tired” I said trying to calm him down “then you need to call your jobs and get a break” Daddy insisted “ok I get it” I sighed, “we can call for you if it's easier” Momma offered “NO! Ahem, sorry I um I mean I already asked for a short break because I have enough on my plate with the dance preparations to finish” I said giving them a sheepish smile. “You're not doing any work Jasmine you need to rest” Daddy demanded “Daddy I know I need to rest and I am. Plus the Vise President has done a lot already with the help from Sophie so I'm taking it easy” I explained “Honey...” Momma started before stopping herself “anyways can I ask y'all something” I said sitting up with all seriousness. “Sure Honey whatever you need. We can help” Momma offered understandingly “well I want to see grandmother and aunt Vanessa,” I said straightforwardly. Momma and Daddies eyes widened with worry as they caught their breaths “w..why” Momma asked nervously “honestly...” I started as I looked at their stunned and nervous faces “I know this may come as a shock to you but I remember everything from when I was little. I remember I showed you some type of magic and ended up forgetting about them because something happened and made me gain Retrograde Amnesia because I hit my head” I stated “wait so you remember, everything” Daddy asked uneasily. “Yea I do I also found out some other things as well,” I explained, “what do you mean” Momma asked tensely “ok well like I said I remember everything from when I was little, all the way from me showing you the magic I discovered, to you calling grandmother for help” I stated “but you weren't in the room when I called your grandmother” Momma said. “Yea that's the thing so here's the part where I need y'all to have an open mind...” I said cautiously “okay...” Daddy agreed tensely “so y'all remember Samael…” I asked seeing their eyes flicker from worry to negation. “Well um you see...ok he has the same gift I discovered. Well that is before his body turned to sparkles when he died. Anyways he's not fully dead but also not fully alive... I mean his sparkles or matter went everywhere so he's with me that is to say he's also with you...anyways so while I was unconscious he showed me what happened when I was little. Using my memories that had been blocked. He helped me remember them by playing them to me in a way that made me feel like I was there, like it was actually happening. He showed me when I showed you the magic shaped like the northern lights, y'all saying not to do it anymore and me walking off sad, then me gasping for air and daddy helping me till the ambulance got there. Were they put those Repositionable Electrodes the sticky circle on my chest connecting me to the heart monitor, then y'all waiting in the hospital room until Dr Williams came out saying I was ok or so he thought. Till y'all walked in and started talking with me just to notice I wasn't exactly ok, Dr. Williams then checked me out just to figure out I had gained retrograde amnesia, which he explained then when we finished explaining everything y’all didn't know if I’d get those specific memories back or not so y'all took a chance and didn't risk it so y’all didn't tell me. Then y'all split up to call people Daddy calling the people Malakie was with to let them know what had happened and to not tell Malakie. While Momma called Grandmother to see if she could help and fix the magic situation but she couldn’t till I gained the powers back.” I stated knowingly as I looked at their stunned faces. “So all that's happening now is...” Daddy asked not being able to finish “yep all because this gift came back but I've had these powers for a little while. I just didn't know what to do with them or who to tell” I confessed “and when did you start noticing that this “gift” was occurring” Momma asked sternly. “uh well when I hum or sing something happens but the first-first time that I had a magical surge of power. Was when I was fighting Samael when he kept going to fare trying to make me kill him (I mean he succeeded… kinda) but whatever” I said (yea sorry about that once again I was clearly not in my right mind) Samuels voice echoed Momma and Daddy clearly hearing him to “Samael Honey um this isn't funny come out of hiding” Momma said nervously looking around. “Yea so I'm not crazy y'all can hear him to” I said smiling happily (you have never been crazy Jasmine) “Where is he?” Momma asked still looking around “you're not going to find him Momma trust me he's not physically in here” I said sighing (yes and I’d like to take this chance to formally apologize to the both of you. For hurting you both and your family. I never truly wanted to hurt any of you but it was the only way I could think of) Samael said apologizing. “Even though I don't agree with what you did or how you went about it. It's fine son. Since you fixed everything that's all that matters” Daddy finally said “ok so off that sad topic. What do we do can we call Grandmother or Aunt Vanessa for help” I asked worried. “Hm, I'm not sure I think we kinda half to now that all this is going” Momma said looking to Daddy “alright let's call your mother and sister” Daddy sighed annoyedly as he started towards the door “Jasmine...” daddy said turning back around to me with a sincere look “we need you to keep tabs on when your powers occur that way we’ll have a better view on the matter” Daddy said strategically. “I know Daddy” I said giving him a soft smile “ok then I’ll go and call them hopefully Venessa will pick up this time” Momma said grabbing her phone and standing up. “I'm happy you're ok,” Momma said giving my hand a quick squeeze before leaning down kissing my forehead. Leaning back up she walked towards the door, stopping at Daddy and giving him a gentle smile as she gently touched his chest. After Momma left Sophie almost immediately walked in “oh hey Soph so what’d the doctor say? Can I go home” I asked. “Well...they said they want to keep you for a day so they can keep an eye on you for the time being” Sophie explained sighing “oh is that all…” I said irritatedly “now just calm down Jas…” Sophie said cautiously as she gestured her hand towards me to calm down “I'm calm I'm calm --Sigh-- ok so how are the boys” I asked calmly “well they were relieved that you woke up...so relieved they all finally relaxed to the point of falling” Sophie laughed “those --Sigh--. were you able to make them go home so they can sleep and eat” I asked. “Oh um they said they...won't leave till their..able to...see...you” Sophie stuttered cautiously. Looking to Daddy I smile “can someone ask the doctor if they can come in,” I said, “I'll go do that” Daddy said as he walked off. “I need to check on your mother anyways” “ok thanks Daddy” I said smiling as he closed the door. “So how you doing Jas” Sophie asked tenderly “honestly I'm a little tired but that's probably because of Momma and Daddy. I know they care about me but they worry way too much. It took them forever to listen to me and believe that I'm ok” I said slightly laughing making Sophie laugh too. “Yea especially your mom” Sophie agreed making us both laugh more “yea Mommas always worried though. Anyways, how's Malakie? I know he worries himself to death when someone he cares for is hurt” I asked “well since I told them you were awake and doing better they fell from exhaustion. So I think they worried themselves rugged ya know” Sophie stated. “Yea I figured that was the case” I sighed “seriously y'all tell me to take care of myself...look at y'all Malakie, Luke and Jack not eating or sleeping worrying themselves sick. Then you I mean you're obviously tired and stressed your coffee is even stronger than usual. I could smell it from here then! There's your tired looking eyes I mean I already knew you weren't going to sleep well knowing I was in the hospital AGAIN! Then you said that you and the Vice President did most of the work already that just helped me know for sure." I said with all seriousness “so you did notice” Sophie sighed chuckling nervously “Sophie you and the guys go home, get something to eat, get some sleep” I said sighing worriedly Sophie's face shocked. “Yea but the boys won't go till they see you” Sophie explained “and they will be able to see her...” a familiar voice said as we heard the door click closed “oh Dr Williams so your on my case” I asked looking towards the door “Fortunately I am” he smiled “hello Dr Williams” Sophie smiled weakly “sorry I was just saying Sophie and the guys should go home eat something and get some well needed sleep” I explained “where worried about you Jas plus I wouldn't be able to sleep not knowing if you were fully ok” Sophie explained. “Yea I know that's why I want y'all to see that I am indeed fine” I said smiling “anyways Dr Williams you must have come in for a reason so what can I help you with” I asked sweetly. “Well I have some stuff we need to discuss” he said holding a folder “well that's my cue to leave.” Sophie said as she stood up off the bedside “I'll just go and see the boys. I'll come back when y'all are done” Sophie said as she walked out “ok I'll text you when we are done” I said showing her my phone smiling turning around she smiled one last time before she turned towards the door. As the door clicked closed I turned to Dr. Williams with a serious face. “So how am I doing” I asked straightforwardly “well the test isn't as good there worse than yesterday's actually” he explained “I see well yesterday’s attack was way worse than before so I half-heartedly expected this” I explained.
