More Questions: Nina's POV

472 Words
I was helping aunt Miranda prepare dinner for the Sunday pack house dinner. She moved gracefully and smiled at me whenever I moved to slow, I finally stopped and sat at the island's bar and watched her. I think she was happy with this because she sighed and smiled up at me. "So this engraving thing between humans and wolves? I understand the wolf bond and finding a mate, but how are humans even factored into a wolf's life?" I asked still in awe of all this. Miranda looked at me before she spoke as if she was trying to find the right words. "When I met Robert I knew I was his and he knew he was mine instantly because our beast knew each other. But since humans don't have a beast, but a spirit their spirit or past and future lives engraves the wolf's memory and injects there soul into the wolf's beast. Making the bond stronger than that even between wolves. A wolf can't reject an engravement, his beast is incapable of it. The wolf becomes linked to that human forever." I nodded and started to walk over to her and help with the dish, when I jumped at the loud booming noise. "What was that?" I looked at Miranda who was sniffing the air, her eyes had changed glowing a orange hazel color, "Lycan, royalty." She looked at me, "Go upstairs." "But what is going on?" Again we heard the booming noise and then we heard uncle Robert's voice in a growl. "Robert?" Miranda whispered. "Uncle Robert, is he hurt?" I asked Miranda didn't answer me, her eyes were glowing and she was again sniffing the air. "He's fine the Prince is upset about Bethany." "Bethany?" Again the booming noise echoed thru the halls and I heard a whimpering sound. "Uncle Robert?" My heart started racing thinking of my uncle being hurt; I can't endure lost again and before she could stop me, I ran from the dining hall into the living room where the noise was coming from; stopping short at the sight of a gigantic blonde furred wolf and a giant beast standing on two legs, they were squaring each other up and at my entrance the blonde wolf took his focus off the huge two legged beast and looked at me, he howled, pressing my hand to my mouth I looked at the eyes and realized it was uncle Robert, the golden eyed beast took this distraction as an opportunity to attack. So I ran to uncle Robert, who was growling at me in a warning to stop, but instead I ran in front of Uncle Robert's wolf using my body as a shield while turning to the beast and yelled "Stop" which to my amazement it did. I smiled right before everything went black.
