Chapter 14: Brothers slumber party   Ahmad's pov.  "Haba Ahmad just one last night with you. We could play GTA or FIFA"    "No Ammar, you are married so you have to go to your wife now. And besides you hate staying up all night with me. And...... You have no idea how to even use the Playstation not to talk of how to play the actual games. And again...... your wife is waiting for you.... Shoo"      "You could teach me tonight. You also didn't want to be imprisoned with this logic called marriage that's why you ran away from it."      "You seem more suitable my brother. You and Hafsa look good together" I smiled.      He groaned and punched my arm. We've been in my room chatting for a whole hour and I have been trying to send Ammar away but he refuse to budge.      First I preached to him like a father, then we had a manly talk like brothers and then I teased him like the best friends we are. Finally I try to meanly send him away to his wife like the responsible man I am.      "No but seriously Ammar, I know you like to ignore people you don't care about but Hafsa is your wife now and a wife is to be cared for." I said seriously.    "I know you've always wanted to visit the islands but I didn't get that ticket because of you. I got it for Hafsat, she's a Seychelles fan. And please don't live with just 'Good morning' and ' goodnight' there are a billion words in the dictionary, use them and form wonderful sentences.    I know there is some kind of misunderstanding between you. I hope you can clear that and understand each other, have fun, take many pictures and maybe fall in love in 3 days" I teased.    "Is that even possible? " he chuckled.    " If you try... Yes it is. And if it's with Hafsa its even better and easier. "    "Why do I have a feeling that you care about that girl more than me?" He scrutinized his eyes.    "Yes! Are you jealous? Hafsat is very pretty" I said dreamily.    He gave out an obvious fake laugh   "Why? Are you jealous? " I teased.    He rolled his eyes.    My phone beeped and I checked it. It was Mufida so I quickly replied.  She was the one who suggested that I get them a honeymoon ticket as a wedding gift.    " You know what? Sadiq and Adnan are so much more fun. Bye" he stood up to leave and I followed him.    "But wait." He abruptly stopped and I almost bumped into him. "How did you know she loves Seychelles?"    "Dude!" I shouted "You can't just stop like that when I'm walking right behind you. Why? Is it bothering you that I know more about her than you do? Let me tell you a secret. COMMUNICATION. Just talk and you would be surprised."   Ammar rolled his eyes at me. "You always say weird stuffs " he muttered under his breath.  We went to Adnan's room and found him playing FIFA on the Playstation with Sadiq, so we joined them. Ammar doesn't know how to play so he just cheered on the winner.    I kept chatting with Mufida. She's teaching in a high school in Yobe state and she hates her school's principal so she kept ranting about how wicked the woman is. She made me laugh alot.   With Mufida it doesn't matter what we talk about, as long as I talk to her. She's so cute. They didn't get to come to Ammar's wedding because of some personal reasons but they sent their congrats and apologies.      I can't wait for our own wedding. I will take her wherever she wants.  I just love her and no amount of words can define how much. She's my hayat.       My Mufida slept early so my brothers and I continued playing till 30 minutes before fajr (Morning prayers) at 5am. Ammar went upstairs and we all got ready for prayers.          -   Ammar's POV    I went back to the attic to take a shower before going to the masjid. I switched on the side lamp.   She was sleeping on the bed. She looked uncomfortable, like she slept while waiting.        Was she waiting for me?   Idiot, then who would she be waiting for?    I never asked her to   She's making me feel bad. My conscience was making me feel bad.  Lord!      I showered and dressed up for masjid. Just when the Azan was being called, her phone's alarm went off. I noticed her shift on the bed before she finally got a hold of her phone and stopped the alarm.    She sat up and rubbed her eyes with the back of her hand as she muttered the morning azkar. She let out a light scream the moment she saw me. She closed her eyes and placed her hand on her chest saying 'Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun' multiple times. She finally opened her eyes slowly and looked at me again.      "Sorry, I scared you" I apologized and she nodded.    I was wearing a white jalabiya and white cap. Its enough to make a person scared.    "It's time for prayers" I informed her and left the room.  -   All the men in the house except for Abba and Auwal slept till 2pm. Sakina and Safiya took the trouble of waking us up as I was sleeping in Ahmad's room.    We all prayed Zuhr and joined the rest of the family for lunch.    "What were you guys doing all night?" Ammi questioned      "Was it an only guys' slumber party?" Zainab mused.        "Ammar did you leave Hafsat by herself and party instead? " Mummy whispered dangerously and gave me a look that says 'Are you crazy'      I swallowed my saliva, not knowing what to say as the person in question immersed from the kitchen with Safiya trying to collect the tray she was holding.      " Give it to me. I told you, you're our a new bride (Amaryan mu) so you should just rest for now" Safiya said as she collected the tray from her.      "Ammar. I said why did you leave her alone" mummy whispered again not letting the matter slide. She was whispering but anyone paying attention could hear.      I looked from her to the person in question then to Ahmad who just shrugged like saying ' Don't look at me. You're on your own'      " No. It's not that.. I - " I started but my brain suddenly stopped working. I couldn't find an excuse.      " No Mummy. He didn't leave me. I slept early but he wasn't sleepy so I suggested he goes to his brothers if there were awake." She answered for me.    My wife just saved me from my mother's rant. To say I was shocked was an understatement. On the contrary I thought she would be angry and would love to see my mum scold me. But she surprised me instead.    "Awwn. That's very nice of you. You should have fun in Seychelles with my baby. " Ammi commented.    Oh no.. Not that 'baby' again.    I scowled and she just smiled at Ammi.    And that was how the topic was changed to Seychelles and it's tourist sites.     Adnan browsed about Seychelles for us. She kept mixing up Adnan and Sadiq and I have to admit it was funny. The boys don't even look alike. Okay maybe they do but not too much.      We left for Seychelles later that night. It was a long and uncomfortable journey.    *
