Esther nodded and escaped to the bedroom, leaning against the timber once she’d closed the door. If Elvera left at nine, she’d have less than three hours to learn all she could and escape before she returned. That should be more than enough time. Especially since she knew the password to the room upstairs. A shudder went through her. Why couldn’t Elvera have had a bedroom downstairs?
