“I can’t imagine another side of Laura.” Jay said to me.
“Ok, I warned you is all I'm going to say.” I told him.
Adam went inside first, I took a deep breath and walked in next. Mom was at the island making French toast.
She looked up at me with a smile, then I saw it. Her eyes went wide when Jay walked in behind me. I watched as her eyes darted from Jay to me.
My mom's smile went very tight. “Jay, what a surprise, did not know you had spent the night here.”
“Um, yeah, it got really late with the movie.” Jay said
“Hmm, was one of the guest rooms here in the house not suitable?” My mom asked him, raising an eyebrow.
Jay looked at me, he was at a loss for words. I tried to warn him. My mom is cool with a lot of things, but this she goes into mama bear mode with.
