My Twin Mates

My name is Maddison Rose and I am sixteen years old I just turned this summer and met my wolf Sapphire she is amazing and everything I ever dreamed about. I have long wavy black hair and bright blue eyes, I am very petite and get picked on by my twin sister Belle daily. She is my complete opposite in every way she is blonde with brown eyes pretty I guess but everyone says I am the rose and she is the thorn. She hates it and hates me because boys like me more than her, she always bullies me and sometimes she takes it to far. Our older brother Zack tells me to ignore her but it hurts to have your twin hate you and constantly steal from you and get in trouble and then blame you for it. Sometimes I wish we were like when we were younger and shared everything giggling long into the night together. That is but a memory now and I look at a picture on my desk of us dressed in matching tutu’s arms around each other and frown as I don’t think we will ever be that close again. I grab some fresh clothes and head for the shower I am running late for school and don’t need to get in trouble on the first day back from Christmas break. As I reach for the door Belle shoves me out of the way and slams the door in my face. “You snooze you loose b***h” she says through the door. “Cmon Belle I have to get ready for school!” I yell I can tell she has already had a shower and was just taking the washroom to be a b***h. I kick the door and yell again” Belle hurry the eff up I need to get ready!” Just then my father Miles Rose and brother Zack walk down the hallway and my dad gives me a stern look “ Maddison Rose what did you just say?” My parents are fairly strict but loving and kind people my father is the Beta of Red Dawn pack and our family is respected by the pack but we are to act accordingly and if not you were in trouble. “ Sorry dad but I really need in the washroom to get ready for school and Belle won’t leave” I complained. “Belle,honey” my dad says as he taps on the door “make it quick okay?” “Okay daddy” Belle says from inside the bathroom. I know she will not leave in time and I am going to be late if I don’t hurry up. Zack leans in to me and whispers” use my bathroom baby sis” and pats me on the head. I look up at my big brother Zack and smile he is so kind and loving and I am so grateful for him, I rush past him and into his room to use the shower attached to his room. Belle and I have to share a bathroom while Zack and my parents have their own. Zack lets me use his quite often because Belle is always in ours and for that I am forever grateful. I hop in the shower wash my long black hair and lather my body with my apple blossom scented soap. I inhale the smell as the steam fills the room. I rinse off quickly and jump out to dry off. I peer at myself in the mirror and brush my teeth I think I am pretty, not gorgeous but I get compliments a lot and sometimes guys are gross about it. They say I have c**k sucker lips I look at them in the mirror and yes I have full pouty lips but I don’t get the comment and find it insulting. I brush my hair out of my face and get dressed in a pair of slim blue jeans that snug my butt and my bra and a cute maroon top. I love dressing in colours that bring out the colour of my eyes. I rush out of Zack’s room and into mine grabbing my backpack and heading downstairs to the kitchen. There is no time for breakfast this morning so I grab a banana muffin and head for the door. “Mom, dad leaving for school” I yell as I hurry out the door stuffing the muffin in my mouth. Our pack school is only a couple blocks away so I am not late yet as long as I don’t run into Belle and her beasts that’s what I call her and her friends and me and my bestie Katie think it’s hilarious. Just as I think of Katie I see her round the corner she lives just down the block from us and we have been best friends since we were 9. “Hey,hey Maddie how ya doin?” She asks as we meet up, “ I’m doin good how bout u?” I ask back. “Livin the dream” she replies with a smile as we head towards the school. I can see Belle and her beasts from a distance and we walk to the other side to avoid them. Katie hates Belle and won’t tolerate her bullying me. I don’t know why I let her hurt me but I just can’t hurt my sister. I still love her and wished she wasn’t so hateful and mean. We walk into the school and head to our lockers, Katie’s locker is right beside mine we unlock our lockers and put our stuff in just as the bell rang. “See ya in fourth” she says heading to her first class. I shut my locker and say” yep see ya later Katie” and make way to my first class I have algebra and although it isn’t my favourite class I do alright. I am a straight A student and I guess that might make Belle jealous as I never really have to study and I get really good marks. She talks too much in class and doesn’t pay attention and then gets annoyed when I get better grades than her. My classes go by quickly and Katie and I are standing at our lockers getting our coats and backpacks out. It is winter here at Red Dawn pack but because we are wolves we don’t really feel the cold that much. We wear them so if human kind see us they don’t think anything suspicious. We live amongst humans and they are none the wiser but we must follow strict rules when around them. Werewolves can run faster see better and are all round superior to humans in every way. We were created by the moon goddess and on your sixteenth birthday you shift and meet your wolf. It is a very important time in any werewolves life. I met Sapphire that night and it was magical. My parents and brother were so proud when my sister and I shifted. My wolf is a large black wolf the same colour as my hair and my eyes are a striking colour of blue. Belle’s wolf is smaller than mine and light brown in colour. As we walk home from school Katie and I talk about the school dance coming up on Friday night.”Do you wanna go?” Katie asks I usually don’t want to go to school functions because the guys are gross and have zero respect. I know my mate does not go to our school, as werewolves we can sense our mate, they always have a smell that is irresistible to only our mate. We must mark each other to make the mating ritual complete. “Well why not?” I say shrugging my shoulders, “what could it hurt, we deserve a night on the town” I say. Katie jumps up and down excited I decided to go.
