Cole's P.O.V

I woke up in a fit of cold sweat, max was anxious “Mates in trouble” he said frantically “what kind of trouble” I asked him back but he wasn't making any sense in his mutterings, I decided to ring Ava and check on her. The phone rang three times before she answered it “Hello” her sweet voice answered but it sounded uneven. “Are you okay?” I asked her, I could hear her breathing, it was slightly jagged but she didn't answer “Ava is everything okay?” I asked her again, this time she answered me “ yeah, erm, I'm okay now, we were attacked at our home tonight, my dad has brought us to Joe's” she said shakily “What uncle Joe's?” I said out loud without realising “I will come over” I say and put the phone down before she could argue against it. I mind linked my dad and told him I had to go to Ava, that she was at Uncle Joe's and she was scared. 

I reached Black moon pack within ten minutes, the guards at the gates dressed all in black and standing to attention, let me through with no issue. I walked towards my Uncle Joe's office, I knocked the door and waited for him to say I could enter. “Come in!” He called, I enter the room to be faced with a large man I could feel the waves of power he was emitting, he looked oddly familiar “Adrien this is Cole my nephew” Uncle Joe stated, “Pleasure, I'm Ava's dad” he said looking at me with a smirk on his face and his hand extended, as our hands touched I got a bit of an odd vibe, I focused on him for a moment, wait what is he? “I can read the confusion in your eyes son, I am a hybrid I'm sure you have heard of me somewhere along the line” he stated, and then it clicked the hybrid Fey and Lycan. My eyes widened in shock that I was in his presence, this man is legendary to our kind. He just smiled at me no wonder neither me nor Lana could read Ava she must be a hybrid too. “I called Ava sir she sounded panicked, I am her mate” I answered honestly, he looked at me and nodded “She's in the pack house, her mother will be expecting you no doubt” he says, a smirk on his face again, I didn't really give much thought to what he meant.

I reached the pack house and Ava was sat in the living room she was hugging a pillow and watching some random cartoon on the TV. I knew the territory well, I have been visiting my uncle here since I was a pup. I took in Ava's appearance, her eyes where red and puffy but as her eyes connected with mine she looked like she was really concentrating on me for the first time ever, “she see's me” Max says excitedly “So your a wolf” she states sniffing the air around her, I nodded to her as I sat next to her on the sofa. “Why do you smell different?” she asked me frowning slightly. “You can smell my scent? How do I smell to you” I asked her smiling “Your what? You smell like coconut and raspberries” she said whilst still looking confused, “Do I have a scent? And do you know what I am” she asked me “I don't know what you are yet, and you smell like candy floss and roses” I say looking into her eyes, my hands started to become clammy, all my confidence was knocked out of me, trying to capture my breath “I I'm well, erm I am your mate” I rushed out “so that's why we have a certain smell to each other” I say licking my dry lips whilst looking at her red pouty ones, “you being able to smell my scent means your recognising me as yours” I stated, whilst trying to regain my confidence.

“What's a mate, I heard my parents briefly talking about it?” she asked me looking confused, she didn't seem nervous asking me these questions, I breath in her essence deeply before carrying on answering her “The moon goddess she gifts us a mate” I say, trying to see any little reaction from her “its like a soul mate of sorts the other half of yourself, you protect and love each other” I say softly, not wanting her to instantly panic. She swallows hard, and breaths in deep as her cheeks blush a little “So your mine?” she says slightly timidly, before her eyes sparkle gold “Is that why I can't help what I say around you?” she asks, my eyes are locked with hers now, being this close is starting to affect me “Yes I'm yours” I say, “the reason you can't help what you say might be more to do with the Fey blood inside you” I answer her, her eyes become curious and now I notice the blue flecks taking prominence “What if I am more Fey than Lycan will I still be your mate?” she asked curiously, almost as if she's questioning my loyalty, I take her hands in mine feeling the tingles of electricity.  

“Ava you are my mate, you will always be my mate, it doesn't matter to me if your more, or all Fey, even if your only human I don't care” I answered her, her cheeks blushed pink and she tucked her hair behind her ears, before not knowing where to place her hand, “thank you for coming to check on me” she said “Always” I answer, I wrap my arms around her slowly to give her a hug, not knowing if she would accept my affection. Surprising me she rests her head on my chest, warmness floats through my body and instantly, her body relaxed on mine. After a little while I hear her breathing become heavy, she fell to sleep. I felt her heart beating steady as she rested on me, I gently kiss her forehead and just enjoy being close to her.

As I held her gently her mom walks into the living room “I knew you would be a good fit” she said, sitting on another sofa and smiling “I'm Ava's mom, faith, and I am an oracle” she stated, her voice low and soft but still filled with power. Wow Ava's got some seriously powerful parents. “Hi I'm Cole” I answer, trying to sound confident but not arrogant in front of her mom. “Nice to meet you Cole” She says, her eyes now focused on mine “Ava's going to need you over the next few weeks more than ever, I know your a wolf but Lycan's are more powerful than you can know! With her fey side as well she is also going to be fast and impulsive, I know you will do everything to keep her happy and safe” she spoke so certainly. I nodded my head “Of course I am here for her no matter what” I answer faith, her smile spread across her face and she looked pleased with my answer. She left me on the sofa with her daughter.

So entranced by her beauty I hadn't noticed Ava's dad walk in. “I haven't seen her sleep like that since she was five” he said, with a smile on his face, bringing me back to the room “she feels safe with you” he said this looking into my eyes, I noticed he had similar eyes to Ava “I think she has a lot of you in her” I said to her dad “Is that so?” he asked with a smile on his face. “Her room is on the second floor, third door on your right, you may put her to bed but you wont be sleeping in there with her” he stated flatly and I could feel the power again, swallowing hard I nodded, carrying her up to her room. I placed her down into her bed and placed a soft kiss on her head, she smiled in her sleep. That's when I fell in love with her, deeply in love with her.

I watched her for a moment, she was so tiny yet she may become so powerful, I left her room hesitantly and walked downstairs. Her dad was sat on one of the large sofa's, he looked troubled “Do you know I haven't had a run around these borders in Lycan form since my crowning ceremony, do you fancy tagging along?” her dad asked me, I looked at him wondering what his Lycan's like I smiled “Yes please it will help settle my wolf” I said, he gave me a knowing look. Max was currently very excited that our mate really saw us and saw him for the first time and he needed to be let out.

We arrived at the clearing in minutes and we both went behind tree's to shift, I came out to be welcomed by a huge blue and black Lycan, I was in awe at him, I have never seen anything like him his eyes were bright Aqua and gold, he towered over me and stood on two legs, his claws where more elongated than mine, his canines were pushed far forward. He must of realised I was shocked as he bowed his head, I looked tiny compared to him. My wolf has always been larger than any one else's, yet here I am looking like a pup compared to this humongous creature. We ran fast around the pack borders, the wind brushing through my fur and the soft ground crumbling under my giant paws felt so satisfying. Yet I could tell Adrien wasn't running full speed, it looked more like a light jog for him. We got back to our clothes and shifted back. I walked out from behind the tree and he stood slumped up against one smiling.  

“Do you know why my Lycan is so large?” he asked me, I just shook my head. He pushed away from the tree and walked forward slightly “My mom was going to become the Fey queen, so my inner fey is a prince his name is Raine, he was the next rightful king, he is truly powerful. The future Alpha Lycan in me is Leon, he was trying to gain dominance, as he was too a powerful creature. It made them both more powerful, eventually my Lycan took dominance, but on the day of my crowning ceremony to become Alpha, bloodsuckers attacked and that infuriated my fey, were easily offended you see. He took control of my Lycan which made me bigger, faster and stronger, I ripped the bloodsuckers apart in minutes and not one member of my pack got a look in before they were all dead”, he took a deep breath calming himself as he remembered the bad memory. 

“That's when there was a supernatural court hearing to see if I was a threat with my fey being that powerful now taking control of my Lycan” he said this looking hurt but then a smile appeared on his face as he seemed to remember a fond memory “That's when me and my wife faith met and as you know oracles don't ever get mates, but for some purpose the moon goddess blessed me with her” he said this looking doey eyed. “She helped me learn to control the battle between my fey and my Lycan, she saved me from myself” I could see in his face how the journey he had been on was a difficult time. “I have managed to get them to harmonise within each other so much so they are nearly one voice, that is something that is so hard to do when there are three voices working hard in your head at all times” he said.

I couldn't help but admire him immediately, this legend is talking to me he is my future father in law but I did wonder why he was telling me so much about himself “Sir, why do you feel you need to tell me this?” I asked curiously, he turned to look me in the eyes, running his hands through his hair “I am a Fey I know I can trust you, plus you are my daughter's mate, her body is starting to change it healed itself yesterday during training, when she is excited gold flecks fill her eyes, when she's angry or her fighting instincts take over cold blue flecks fill her eyes. The fight within has began, she certainly has both lying in wait for her to turn eighteen. She needs her mate to help her, plus her fey friend from school” he said all of this and I felt proud to be a part of Ava's life, her family are truly extraordinary.  

“You can both help her learn how to control these separate parts of her. Yet you both must allow her body to decide which is going to be more dominant” he said placing his hand on my shoulder. I could see how much he loved Ava they must be so close. “I would like to meet this Lana can you ask her to come speak with me please” he asked I nodded “Sir just so you know I don't care if Ava is fey, Lycan or human I will love and protect her regardless, her safety is all I care about” I told him honestly, its the only way you should ever speak to fey especially one this powerful, If you lie to them they would never trust you again and are likely to rip you limb from limb. A smile spread across his face and his next words made me feel odd “she may just be the one to protect you son”. A kind chuckle rumbled through his chest and I laughed too.

Ava didn't come to school with me today, It was hard to leave her behind as the mate bond has started to pull more now, but I have still got to go. I need to speak to Lana, I saw her by her locker I ran over to her, I could see Faiban skulking around so this needed to be a private conversation, why is he always lingering around, I wondered if he was trying to find out information so that he could use it for himself later on. “Hey Lana can we talk privately” I asked, gesturing towards Faiban she glared at him, her eyes turning ice cold and nodded her head, Uncle Joe allowed us in his office where no one could over hear us talking, his office is soundproof because he sometimes works on Alpha business in there as well and with demons in the school you never know what could be leaked.  

“Where is Ava?” Lana asked me, with curiously cold eyes, her and Ava had become very close. Lana even said she felt a pull towards her and now I know why fey royalty lays in her blood. “Her family where attacked last night by bloodsuckers, now what I have to tell you is possibly going to shock you, Ava's dad is the son of your disowned queen, he was the next rightful king” I say, she didn't say anything and I could see she was waiting for me to continue “His father was the last Lycan and Alpha of black moon pack, both fey and Lycan resides harmoniously in his body, Ava's dad said he needs to speak with you about Ava, she has been showing signs of both Lycan and fey” I told her honestly what I was asking of her, she nodded her head “Well that makes sense, come on then let's go, it's of great importance” she stated.

We got to black moon pack and Ava was up and training with her dad, her speed was extraordinary, so were her skills and reactions to each fist threw at her, she anticipated it before it was threw. Her dad told her to go for a break as he had felt mine and Lana's presence, as I watched her walk away Max got excited he wanted to be close to her. “Can you stay with me and Lana please Cole?” he said as he saw me and Ava had missed each other “you need to be aware of what I am asking too” Adrien said sincerely, he turned to Lana “Hi Lana I am Adrien, Ava's dad, I can see Cole has told you why I have invited you here?” he said to her, she nodded “What do you need from me though, I'm not of any royalty?” she asked him curiously, I was wondering too “I want you to train with her Lana you and Cole at the same time, different techniques, your going to use your wolf Cole and Lana don't hold back from your fey ways” he didn't break eye contact once whilst he continued to tell us what he needed.  

“I will be here to intervene with any of you if I have to. Its just under two weeks before her eighteenth birthday and well I just desperately need to keep her safe from what is due to come for us both” he finished Lana stared at him for a moment, searching him for something before she answered “Yes your fey is much more superior to mine and that makes me want to help you and Ava” she said calmly, he smiled gratefully and nodded his head, then he looked to me “Cole can you fight along side Lana to help Ava become stronger?” he asked me, he knew it was a big ask. As it goes against my mate instinct to fight along side someone else to hurt Ava, but I didn't have a choice I have to do this for her. “Yes sir” I said keeping eye contact so he could tell the turmoil me and Max were in, Lana put her hand on my shoulder “We have to do this for Ava Cole” she said and I could see she cared for her too. Ava walked back out to the training field and eyed us all, smiling when she caught my eyes. Just seeing our mate smile at us made me and Max want to be near her.

Her dad had explained to Ava what we were doing and she didn't look phased, she looked confident not in an arrogant way but almost as if she didn't believe we could or would hurt her. Which made me feel happy she trusted us both so much. “Well no time like the present” said Adrien, signalling that he wanted us to train. I went behind the tree and came back out in my wolf form. Ava's eyes instantly filled with gold, she looked mesmerized by me and max, It was the first time she had seen him properly, although I was still in the driving seat. We felt really excited by her reaction, It was taking everything in me to control Max, after all she was stood there in a sports bra and shorts with sweat already dripping down her chest. I didn't mean to but Max licked his lips and she laughed at my wolf.  

Lana didn't hesitate in launching an attack at Ava, she blocked it with ease and knocked Lana on her ass, I launched at her and she side stepped me tagging my back with a light slap. I twisted and launched again she threw herself up into a somersault. Which Lana cut short by grabbing her arm and swinging her across the training field I winced as I saw her shoulder dislocate. Ava jumped to her feet and popped her own shoulder back in. Ice cold blue now taking over her eyes she ran at Lana punching her across the field with a great force. Her dad had no choice but to intervene seeing Ava's eyes ice cold was a shock to the system but she still looked beautiful. “Great job everyone that will do for today” we all looked at him not understanding why he had stopped us. Then I saw Ava and her body was trembling with anger her eyes where swirling gold and blue she looked like she was about to fall over. I rushed to her side and caught her before her head hit the floor, she was eased by my presence but I could feel the waves of anger and guilt flooding her body.

As I carried her into the living room bridal style, she snuggled into my chest. Her dad didn't seem phased by her condition. “Did this happen to you?” I asked him. He nodded his head “It was hard but I imagine its harder for Ava she is half oracle and even though she won't become an oracle because her mother is alive she still has the essence of one, that's why she's so skilled, why she can anticipate an attack before it happens. Only her anger from her Lycan and vengeance from her fey clouds her judgement, that's why the training is necessary, it will help her to learn how to control her emotions” he answered, with a slight tone of concern in his voice. “That's why I needed you and Lana I am her father and her human emotions wouldn't allow her to attack me, the way she would attack Lana. she will fight with you but wont hurt you, her Lycan would never allow her too” he was reading me whilst he was talking to me, even after everything he had just said I just wanted to be near Ava in any way I could.

“Take her to her room please” he said to me so I carried her up to her room. Stroking her face as I lay her down onto her bed, I went to get a flannel out of her bathroom to wipe down her brow. When I came back in she was sat up on her bed gold eyes taking over, I then realised I was only wearing my shorts. She bit her lip seductively and looked me up and down, my eyes must have been glowing too I could feel max trying to gain control but I managed to push him back. I sat down next to her and tucked her hair behind her ear, before wiping the damp flannel across her brow. Her eyes where looking deep into mine now and her breath was fanning my lips, her sweet scent was alluring, “hi max” she said.  

She was not making this any easier for me or my wolf she kissed along my cheek each kiss nearing my lips, as she got to my lips I kissed her back and held onto the back of her head, snaking my other arm slowly around her waist, she straddled herself across my lap and depend the kiss biting on my bottom lip, a low growl escaped me, this felt so right. We explored every part of each others mouth, her hands where stroking my chest and I could feel her hips grinding into me. Every inch of my body was reacting to this kiss and then I realised what we were doing.  

I broke the very heated kiss and backed my body away from her, taking in deep breaths to calm myself “What's wrong?” she asked, hurt was evident in her eyes “I know you want me your eyes, your wolf and your urm” she said looking down to my excited little friend “is telling me” she said, smiling confidently. “Trust me I really do want you, your dad's downstairs plus if we go further before your eighteenth birthday I might push your Lycan or your fey into hiding, I need to let your body decide who's more dominant” I answered her and she smiled, she pecked me on the lips before lifting off my lap “thank you” she said, her cheeks blushing lightly “what for?” I asked her wondering why she was grateful for what I did, especially because she seemed so disappointed at first.

“Your letting me battle this out without interfering, although I know it can't be easy for you I am having trouble controlling myself around you and my Lycan hasn't completely surfaced yet” she stated “have either of your fey or Lycan spoken to you yet?” I asked her curiously, she looked at me and whispered “both of them have, my fey is called Isla and my Lycan is called Sky, there both very attracted to you, and Max that's why I'm struggling around you my fey already loves how honest you have been and my Lycan well she's urm” she didn't finish but she was blushing again “Don't worry If your Lycan is anything like my wolf I know how your feeling right now, It's an animal thing” I said smiling at her “I can see him when I look into your eyes” she said concentrating on my face “I would introduce you to him properly but if I let him have full control he will want to mark you” I tell her laughing slightly. “mark me? what does that mean?” she asked me, her eyes filled with curiosity, I sucked in a deep breath “It's a way of bonding two mates together” I answered, she looked at me narrowing her eyes “and what else your holding something back” she stated, damn fey blood “okay its a step towards the mating process or can happen during” I answered her fully this time she eyed me and blushed but her eyes where gold again.

She launched her body towards mine again, I lifted her off and pushed her down onto the bed. Kissing her passionately, I stroked my hands down her arms, feeling tiny sparks as I traced down to her waist. She moaned into my mouth and started grinding her hips against me, beads of sweat were starting to force through as I tried my best to hold myself and max back. I broke the kiss off once again and pushed myself away from her. Taking deep breaths to calm myself, she giggled lightly “I love that I have this affect on you” she said seductively. Knowing it's a good job she didn't have her full strength yet, especially when I can just about hold myself back. 

“We should probably go back downstairs” I say, a frown appeared on her face and I instantly regretted saying it. Her dad had made us some lunch when we got downstairs “where's Lana?” Ava asked her dad “I sent her home for now, I figured you may both have stuff to discuss” he said this but didn't look at either of us obviously not wanting to know what had happened upstairs for the last hour. At least both our conscience's were clear. As we sat and ate our lunch Ava started a conversation with her dad “I understand why I could see a blue aura around her now, yours is gold and blue dad” she said with a smile on her face like it wasn't a big deal “wait you can see a persons aura? What's mine?” I asked her curiously “why can't you? Yours is Gold” she said smiling. “Ava that's an oracle power your tapping into” Adrien said, Ava looked proud of herself “I want to talk to you about your eighteenth birthday as well, can I throw you a party?” her dad asked her, she snapped her neck to him so quick she could have got whiplash, concentrating on his eyes “Oh fine!” she said in an annoyed tone. I guess she didn't want one but her dad's reasons for wanting her to have one was enough to make her say yes.

This fey Lycan thing is kind of strange “I better go shortly sir I haven't been home properly since last night” I said looking at them both sadness filled Ava's eyes “Don't worry I will see you tomorrow, and you can text or ring me” I say to her and she smiled at my answer, her dad nodded to me “Walk Cole to the door Ava please” her dad said to Ava “thank you again for today Cole your going to make a great Alpha” he said to me as I was walking towards the front door “Anytime and thank you sir” I shouted back, Ava shut the pack house door behind us, she bit her lip and blushed “Thank you for everything” she said, as she pecked me on the cheek I pulled her into me and hugged her tightly kissing the top of her head, I nuzzled my nose into her neck taking in her scent “anything for you beautiful” I said before I left.

When I got in my room I could smell Cole everywhere and it made me feel happy. I heard a ping it was Cole “I'm back at the pack and I miss you already oh and so does max” it made my heart flutter again, I replied to his message “I miss you already too and so do Isla and Sky, especially sky she's well you know” A smile covered my face and the throbbing feeling started between my legs, I wanted him so bad but I need to talk to my Fey and Lycan. I lay back on my bed and tried to concentrate hard on my fey and Lycan almost as if were sitting in the same room “we need to merge girls” I say, Isla smiles “you want to keep us both I knew it” she said excitedly, Sky shrugged but then looked down “It's dangerous Ava if we merge too early on it can damage us both and even kill you” she said “okay well when I'm eighteen then?” I asked them both and they both nodded “Ava if you are strong enough to hold us both we will stay” Isla stated. 

I hadn't even thought about that what if I wasn't strong enough “don't worry Ava either way you get your mate and he will love you and us” Sky spoke proudly. I picked my phone up and messaged Cole back “so the plans for the weekend, do you fancy coming to the pack to spend time with me? Sky will let you pin me” I replied to him making Sky howl and Isla tut at us both “Now there's an offer I can't refuse” he replied back, “not going to lie I hope I'm around when you mate with him says Sky” she really is like a horny teenager. Although the throbbing between my legs grew stronger thinking about him. His hard chest, his large soft hands, I want to feel them on me. Cold shower for us!
