Geo My body was working on autopilot as I followed the nurse’s instructions. Not even reading the questions I watched as the nurse scrutinised a drop of my blood. “You are borderline anaemic? Have you given blood before?” I nodded, “I’m O negative, you want my blood.” She nurse pursed her lips and shook the vial as the drop moved. “Okay, head through.” While I knew none of my blood would reach Mum it helped to the doing something. My mind was drawing up all sorts of scenarios in the room. Mum, without a leg, in a wheelchair, without both legs, the doctors hadn’t said if it was one or both or her back.
