Episode1: The edge of the valley
The wind whispered through the tall trees as the girl stood at the cliff’s edge, her boots planted firmly on the warm stone. Below her, the valley stretched endlessly—rivers winding like silver threads, waterfalls tumbling into mist, and at the heart of it all, a grand castle glowing beneath the golden light of the setting sun.
She tightened her grip on her staff. This was it.
“Are you ready?” she murmured.
Beside her, the wolf lifted its head, ears alert, amber eyes fixed on the distant castle. It didn’t speak, yet its presence was answer enough. It had followed her this far—through quiet villages, across dusty roads, and into lands most feared to enter. It would not turn back now.
Growing up, she had heard the stories. The Valley of the Hidden Crown. A place where truth and illusion walked side by side. Many had tried to find the crown. None had returned.
But she wasn’t like the others.
A soft rustling came from behind. She turned quickly, heart pounding—but saw only the swaying branches. Still, something felt… different. As if the valley had noticed her arrival.
“Stay close,” she whispered.
Together, they began the descent.
The path was narrow and uneven, wrapped in roots and scattered stones. As they moved deeper, the air grew cooler, heavier. The sounds of the outside world faded, replaced by distant echoes—water rushing, leaves shifting, something unseen moving just out of sight.
Then, suddenly, she stopped.
Up ahead, the path split into two.
One road dipped into a dark forest where the light barely touched the ground. The other curved toward a glowing stream, calm and inviting.
She frowned. “Too easy…”
The wolf let out a low growl.
This was the beginning of the test.
Taking a deep breath, she stepped forward—knowing that every choice from here on could lead her closer to the crown… or deeper into the valley’s secrets.
