“Were you the one who put the pentagram behind that shop?” My mouth falls open. Did he seriously just ask me that? Irritation spikes in my chest as I snap my mouth shut and purse my lips. Ian is watching me, eyes hard as he sips from his drink. “You’re joking, right?” I ask dryly, unable to fathom WHY he would even ask me that. “I’m not an i***t, Ian. If I made a pentagram, I would at least close the gate and do my best to wash it away! Not leave it open behind some random old bookshop where anyone could stumble across it like you and Jim did!” Crossing my arms, I narrow my eyes at the older male. “You were one of my mentors in this type of life and even helped my folks realize I was more than capable on going on hunts. WHY would I ruin that by making such a rookie mistake like that?”
