Soft murmurs fills the halls as all of us wait for Ian to come unlock the door so that we can enter the lecture hall. I press the back of my head hard against the wall, my hat cushioning the action so that the brick doesn’t pull at my hair. Olivia yawns loudly next to me, slumping as she glances down at her phone for the seventh time since we’ve arrived. “I wonder where he is,” Olivia mutters to me, worried eyes glancing down the hall. “Professor Winters is never this late.” I nod my head.
