Kaylee’s POV
I gave a smile and a respectful nod to everyone in the room.
“Oh no dear that’s not necessary at all. Just relax”, rose said.
“I just wanted to be respectful,” I said.
“You’re fine I promise. Have you eaten? Are you tired? Do you need to sit for a moment? Rose shot out all at once.
“Oh no ma’am I’m fine” I replied.
“Well dear I will have Alice take you to your room so you can get settled. I’m sure you’d like to unwind a bit after your trip here”. I nodded and went with the lady named Alice to my room.
Alice seemed nice. She was an older lady but had a warm energy about herself. Made me feel like she was my grandma or something. We walked in silence up the stairs and then finally she spoke “so happy to have you here with us. I hope you feel at home”. I smiled and replied “thank you Alice. I hope I feel at home as well”. She smiled and we continued walking. We only heard the clicking of my stilettos against the marble floors.
“you young girls and your high heels'' Alice said breaking the silence”. I laughed a bit and replied “I love a good high heel. As long as it’s pretty and sturdy”,
“They are pretty,” she said looking down at my black peep toe stilettos with a big,black lace bow on the sides. I smiled.
“any time you want to borrow them, Alice just let me know,” I said.
“oh no dear the last thing ole Alice needs is to fall on her face trying to walk in those things. Flats are just fine for me thank you” she said sternly.
I laughed a bit and was going to make another joke but we had arrived at my room. She opened the door for me and we stepped in. To say it’s beautiful wouldn’t do it any justice. This is breathtaking. The beautiful high ceilings with a crystal chandelier, French doors leading out to a balcony. My bathroom looked like an entire room. It was so massive. Like “who needs this much space?”
I was so stunned. I turned to Alice and asked “ is all this for me?” She smiled at me and nodded. I was home
Ryan’s POV
Oh my, is she our mate? My inner wolf asked me in excitement.
“Calm down big fella she isn’t our “mate” she’s the woman I’m being forced to marry.” I said still in a rage that my parents arranged this damn thing without including me.
She’s not bad on the eyes if you ask me.. my wolf said almost purring”
she’s alright I guess if you’re into long legs, a coke bottle frame and pretty eyes.”
I found myself thinking about her. Thinking about how her jeans fit her just right and how her top was cut but not too revealing. How she gave a sweet smile to my mother. Wait what am I doing? I broke from my daydream and walked upstairs to my room. She shouldn’t be in my mind at all! I don’t even know this woman.
She could be an axe murderer for all I know.
Yea cause axe murderers look that good
Shut upppp!! I screamed at him “ she isn’t all of that. She’s pretty, but I’ve seen better, ok?”

Oh now you’re silent huh?” Whatever she isn’t … oh my .
My thoughts were interrupted by a sight to see. I was walking by Kaylee’s room to get to mine and I glanced over to see her bending over looking for something in her bag. I was frozen like a deer in headlights. I shouldn’t be staring, it's weird, I thought to myself. But it’s such a sight to see. This goddess of a woman. Right there for me to touch and make mine.
I thought she wasn’t all of that. I heard followed by a laugh.
I shook my head and kept walking to my room where I went in and slammed the door close. I sat alone with my thoughts and then there was a knock on my door.
It was my right hand, Chase. I greeted him and filled him in on everything that was happening.
“They didn’t even tell you she was coming” Chase asked
“Not until she was damn near walking in the door”
“That’s messed up”
“I know” I said in agreement
“Butttt….”Chase pondered with his hand stroking his chin
“But what?”
“What does she look like?” He asked me in curiosity
“Why does it matter? They did this without me” I said getting upset
“ I know man it’s messed up but I mean if she’s hot then shouldn’t that ease the pain a little bit”
“She’s alright man” I said bluntly
“Just alright or alrightttt” he said thrusting towards the air.
We both laughed, Chase was all about the ladies. He liked tall women with long hair, big boobs and a nice ass. Of course he would want all the horny details of what Kaylee looked like.
“Ryannn” Shouted my mother. I stepped outside of my office to see her walking up the hallway
“ I’m sorry dear I didn’t know you were in your office,” she sincerely said.
“It’s fine mom what’s up?”
“Well since it’s Kaylee’s first night here maybe we should all have dinner together”
“All of us as innn.. my voice trailed off
“ The family, silly. Your dad, myself, your brother, your sisters.” she said with a satisfied smile.
“No way” I said in protest of the idea
“But why”
“I don’t know her and I’m sure a family dinner with a bunch of psychopaths isn’t going to help. Not you mom but you know what I mean” I said shrugging my shoulders.
“Oh dear don’t be that way”
“Mom I’m serious when I say no. I’m not interested”
“Fine break your mother's old heart” she said looking like she was going to cry
Here it comes I thought. She knows how to guilt me into doing what she wants
“Look mom I’ll do dinner if Chase can come”
“Deal” she said in excitement.
“I heard my name,” Chase said, stepping into the hallway.
“My queen, you look beautiful as always”
He grabbed my mother’s hand and kissed it. I hit him as he held my moms hand too long. He let go.
“I was telling mom you’ll stay for dinner”
“Oh yea I love dinner” Chase said, nodding his head.
“Perfect I’ll tell the others. You tell Kaylee. 7 sharp” she said walking away.
“Others? Come on man don’t tell me I’m eating dinner with your crazy ass sisters and your brother?”
“You love dinner, remember? I said, shrugging my shoulders”.
“Man I just got the bird flu, no I got the mumps. Bro you know I can’t sit anywhere near Michelle. She has a crush on me. It’s intense man. She stares at me and weirds me out”
I tried to hold in my laughter but I couldn’t. I laughed loudly in his face. So hard I could feel tears forming.
“You’ll be ok man it’s just one night. My mom wants us to have dinner with Kaylee”
Chase looked confused
“The girl”
“Ohhhh” he said, finally getting it.
“Kaylee is her name,huh? That’s a cute name”
“Man shut up and get ready for dinner. I got go tell her”
I decided against telling her myself. Instead I wrote a note and gave it to Alice to deliver.
