Ryan and Chase made their way to the pack house located hidden far north of the estate. You literally have to know it’s there in order to find it. Ryan was still thinking about Kaylee when he was interrupted by a member of the pack.
“Alpha, everyone is here and ready”, he said bowing his head in respect to his superior.
“Good”, Ryan said
He cracked his neck and burst through the door with authority. All side conversations came to a halt as everyone stood and bowed to their Alpha
“Can someone tell me how the hell a rogue got on the property and almost murdered someone?” he asked in a furious tone
Everyone looked at each other but no answer
“So nobody has anything to say?”
“ A rogue tried to hunt down my mate Kaylee this morning while she took a run on the estate. If not for her being clever she would be dead and one of your heads would be on a f*****g stick!!”
His breathing was hard and angry. The thought of something happening to Kaylee enraged him. He saw red and wanted to hurt anyone that caused her harm or pain.
“When did the alpha find a mate” he heard in a whisper to the side of him
He growled.
“Is there something you would like to share with the rest of the pack” he growled at the pack member Des for his disrespect during his meeting
“No no alpha “ Des said stuttering and not making eye contact
But it was too late he had angered the alpha with his disrespect.
“So you’re silent when asked a question yet you have so much to f*****g say when I’m speaking?” Asked Ryan
“Alpha I meant no disrespect I assure you. I was just curious. I didn’t know you had found a mate. The thought is actually....” he was cut off mid sentence with Ryan snatching him off his feet by his neck
The whole room fell stunned and speechless. They wanted to say or do something but fearful of what the alpha would do to them if they intervened so they all just watched in horror
The young wolf's feet dangled in midair as he tried to breathe. He tapped on Ryan’s hand trying to loosen the alphas death grip
“Alpha....please....” he begged as he fought to capture air in his lungs.
Ryan looked around the room and saw all the stunned faces. He pulled the young wolf close and whispered “if you ever disrespect me again it will be the last thing you ever do” and with that he threw him to the ground.
“Find out who the rogue was! He’s badly injured so it shouldn’t be hard. Do you understand me? Ryan shouted with authority
“Yes Alpha” the pack responded in unison
“I NEED ANSWERS!! “ he shouted and then walked out the door
“You heard the Alpha. Get to work” Chase said as he ran out the door following his best friend
Ryan was flustered. He was pacing back and forth. Pulling at his hair, balling his fist. He was all over the place
“Man are you ok?” Chase asked concerned
“Yea I’m good” Ryan replied. “Why wouldn’t I be?”
“Well you just almost murdered one of your own in front of the whole pack” Chase said, reminding him of what had just transpired.
Ryan took a deep breath in.
“We have some of the most skilled warriors. Trained in multiple areas and yet you let some young,dumb rogue get past you unseen?” Ryan said angry
“People make mistakes sometimes”
“Not if that mistake cost Kaylee her life!” Ryan said with rage and frustration at the thought of his mate being hurt because of someone else’s carelessness
“I won’t have it! I meant what I said. I will rip anyone’s head clean the f**k off if anything happens to her”
Ryan meant his words. He cared for Kaylee more than he had imagined. He wanted to build a life with her and he would rather die than let someone cut their time short.
“Alpha you want me to go knock some heads around?” asked Tyler. Tyler is the muscle of the pack.
“gather some members and go into town. Do what you have to for answers!”, Ryan instructed
Everyone had their orders and Ryan would do anything to keep his mate safe.
