:4The mysterious Stranger

232 Words
The Mysterious Stranger* Asher walked through the streets of Ravenswood, taking in the quaint charm of the town. He had been here for a few days now, and he was starting to feel a sense of unease. It wasn't just the strange looks he got from the locals or the whispered conversations that stopped when he approached. It was Ember. He couldn't shake the feeling that she was watching him, waiting for him to slip up so she could pounce. Asher smiled to himself, intrigued by the hunter's determination. As he turned a corner, he noticed a figure following him. Asher's instincts kicked in, and he quickened his pace. The figure kept pace with him, always staying just out of reach. Asher ducked into a nearby alley, using the shadows to conceal himself. The figure followed, its eyes glowing in the dark. "Who are you?" Asher demanded, his voice low and even. The figure didn't respond, instead pulling out a small piece of paper and handing it to Asher. On the paper was a single word: "Ember" Asher's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with possibilities. What did this mysterious figure want with Ember? And why were they warning him away? As he looked up, the figure vanished into thin air, leaving Asher with more questions than answers. How's that? Should I continue with the chapter or move on to the next one?
