THE CORONATION
Luna’s POV
A few days have passed and more Royals have arrived. Prince James has tried on more than one occasion to get to know me, but after the first impression, I’m just disappointed. I’m attracted to him, and I do feel the pull of the mate bond, but I hate that he thinks of me as a she-wolf. Not all she-wolves are the same. If only he knew how this all started.
Prince James: Why are you always training with Alpha Aiden?
Luna: Because he’s the only one who can actually make me break a sweat.
Prince James: What are you even training for? It's obvious you are strong.
Luna: If you must know I will be challenging the Alpha King Elijah. And being strong won’t cut it, I need to be fast and smart. Basically I have to be ten steps ahead.

Just then my mom comes in and interrupts.
Evangeline: (Ahem) I believe this is my story to tell.
Luna: Oh, hey mom. Sorry, your right.
Prince James: May I hear your story, Miss Evangeline?
Evangeline: Only if you call me Evangeline.
Prince James: Ok, so why the resentment to the Alpha King Elijah?
Evangeline: Long story short a little over nineteen years ago Elijah marked me and took me by force then left me for dead. And in that time I became pregnant with Luna.
Prince James: So let me get this straight, Alpha King Elijah is your mate, who raped you and Luna is his daughter?
Evangeline: He is not my mate.
Prince James: I’m sorry, but if he marked you, he is your mate. We can only impregnate our mates. Whether chosen or destined.
Evangeline: (Shocked) What? I don't believe this. Why would he even do this if I was his mate?
Prince James: I honestly don't know, But whatever his reason is it's definitely too late for forgiveness. Has he ever tried to reach out to you?
Evangeline: No, he thinks I’m dead.

Days go by and it looks like Prince has a newfound respect for women in general whether human, Lycan, or wolf which is good, but my focus is on tonight’s coronation and this damn challenge, not him, unfortunately, I can't allow myself to be distracted with a mate.
Rose: Oh my Goddess, today is the day are you ready?
Luna: Yes, the sooner the better. Can you help me with my hair and makeup, please?
Rose: Sure, but I have a question. Are you going to dance with Prince James tonight?
Luna: Maybe, but to be honest he’s cool and all, but I don't really care for a mate right now.
Rose: Are you still mad about how you first met?
Luna: No, it's not that it's just I feel like he’s not the one. Maybe the Goddess got it wrong?
Rose looks at me and shrugs her shoulders

Rose does my hair and makeup. Once rose and I am ready we wait for Michael to arrive and take us to the location of the coronation.
When we arrive I see Prince James there waiting to escort me in. He is handsomely dressed in an all-black Giorgio Armani suit.
Prince James: May I have the honors?
I want to say no right away but instead, I look to Michael and rose they both nod as if to say I should.
Luna: You may.
Prince James: Thank you Michael and rose for escorting Princess Luna safely.
We walk in and Prince James has a firm hand on my lower back. He lowers his lips to my ear slightly causing a shiver to run down my spine. I look at him and he smiles knowing the effect he’s causing.
Prince James: Luna will you save me a dance later?
Luna: I’ll think about it. For now, I have to go mingle.
Prince James: Ok see you later then.
He kisses my hand then goes on to mingle as well.
I walk with Rose and Michael.
Beta Michael: (Laughing) Must you give the poor man such a hard time?
Luna: Of course, I don't want him thinking that I'm going to make it easy for him.
Rose: (laughing) She has her reasons, trust her.
After a while of having fun and mingling, my grandparents introduced me to some of the Royals and there's just one man that stands out over all the rest. He doesn't look like a Royal, hell, he's not even dressed for the occasion. He looks like Trouble. He's tattooed from his neck down to his hands dressed in just an all-white button-up put a few buttons off the top.
King David-Pop: Luna I would like you to meet the former King and Queen of Germany and this is their son King Ryker.
Oh my wow he's a King this sexy, sexy bad boy with the tattoos is a freaking King. I feel the heat rise to my cheeks as I have not so innocent thoughts. As if reading my mind Ryker smiles and winks at me.
Luna: Uhm, Hi I'm Luna Princess I mean Princess Luna.
King Ryker: (Laughing) Hello Princess Luna.
Ryker grabs my hand and brushes his soft lips against my knuckles. I Instantly feel a current of Sparks explode from where his lips touch to my whole body. I feel the heat surge through my body and my eyes turn red in my canine starts to break through my gums I don't know what the hell is happening to me? I don't think he can be my mate since Prince James is my mate.
King Ryker: Uhm, Princess are you OK?
Luna: I'm sorry would you excuse me for a moment, please.
Covering my face I walk away embarrassed. I go to find my Nana.
Luna: Nana what's going on with me?
Queen Amy-Nana: Oh, sweetie you chose your mate.
Luna: No I didn't Nana.
Queen Amy-Nana: So you didn't mark him?
Luna: Mark? I didn't mark anyone all I did was allow King Ryker to kiss my hand.
Queen Amy-Nana: Ahh, I see well dear I think you found your mate.
Luna: But I thought James was my mate.
Queen Amy-nana: Not if you don't choose him, and it's clear you're not attracted to James like you are to Ryker. Riker seems to be your true mate.
I walk to the stage trying to calm myself down and bring my eyes back to its normal color. After I am crowned officially as Queen I feel a surge of power coursed through my body. I make my way to the dance floor, my first dance as the Queen is with my grandfather.
King David-Pop: My sweet little Luna I cannot believe you are Queen now, but I have to admit you make a very beautiful Queen.
Luna: Thank you Pop.
King Ryker: A powerful Queen at that. Excuse me May I cut in and have this dance?
I turn around at the moment I hear his voice, the heat returns, my eyes go red and my canines break through my gums again Pop looks at knowing smile.
King David-Pop: Yes you may and King Ryker behave she's still my little Princess.
Luna: (Blushing) Pop!
King Ryker: So I'm assuming you haven't chosen your mate yet, judging by the lustful look you're giving me.
I growl at his cockiness but blush out of embarrassment as well.
Luna: No, I haven't chosen, but I suppose you have a mate already. You are a King after all.
King Ryker: No, I haven't found her until today.
He smirks as he says this to me. We dance for a while, Prince James comes up to us and looks at me in shock.
Prince James: (Growls) Him? You're choosing him?
Luna: (Growls) Why do you care so much it's my choice and to be honest at least I didn't fight him for being a disrespectful Royal douche bag.
Ryker looks at James with his eyes full of mirth.
King Ryker: (Laughing) Seriously?
Prince James: Luna I apologized for that.
Luna: Well you know what they say first impressions last a lifetime.
King Ryker: If that's the case looks like I'm the obvious choice here. What exactly did he do if you don't mind me asking?
Luna: Who says I have chosen you, just because I'm attracted to you doesn't mean I'm yours you'll have to earn the position as my mate.
Prince James: Wait, Does that mean I still have a chance?
Luna: yes you have a chance, but like Ryker, you have to earn it.
Prince James: I will win your heart, my Queen.
King Ryker: if I don't beat you first.
Luna: (Scoffs) Way to turn this into a game. Glad you guys are taking this seriously.
I walk away while James and Ryker continue to argue about winning my heart I see Michael And walk over towards him.
Luna: Oh, Thank Goddess it's you. Let’s get out of here I'm exhausted.
Beta Michael: Ok, my Queen, is everything ok?
Luna: Yeah, I just need my best friend right now ok.
Beta Michael: Ok, let’s go.
