The bell before the first class was always the worst part of the day: it meant that they had a boring first class, as well as the beggining of a very long day. Tina didn't mind it that much, because she did kind of like history class, also it meant she got to spend yet another day with her friends. Usually the only exciting thing about it was the new topic the teacher spoke about, but this day was different.
As they whispered and giggled waiting for Mr Parks to silence them, a new student walked through the door. Trina only noticed because the girls in the front of the class started sighing heavily and whispering louder than usual, so she turned towards the front to see the cause of the giggles.
He was tall and well built, handsome and hot. His black hair was short and spiky, his chocolate brown eyes deep and curious. He wore black jeans, a black T-shirt and a leather jacket. His backpack was thrown over his left shoulder, and as he looked around the class a playful smirk appeared on his face.
"Holy mother... what a hottie"- whispered Trish into her ear.
"Class, please meet our new student, Mr. Tate Hunters, who just moved to our city from New York"
The girls of the class were more than happy to welcome him, although the boys were not that thrilled to see some fine competition arrive.
The boy walked down to the middle of the class and sat down into the only empty seat, but not before he looked right into Tina's eyes and winked at her.
She could barely concentrate during class after that. She was never interested in boys, not until now atleast, but there was something different about this one. He made her heart beat faster, and she could not concentrate on anything else but his messy hair in front of her.
" T, are you okay?" whispered Matt into her ear, with worry on his face.
She nodded, and pushed a note over to him, saying its nothing, they would talk about it later at lunch. It did seem to settle him a bit, and he turned back to the teacher again.
Lunchtime came fast, and she couldn't wait to talk to Matt about the weird feelings she came across, so she was a bit agitated while waiting for Trish to finish in the toilet. Standing on the corridor stomping her feet to make time go faster, she checked her watch again.
" Nervous, or just need the toilet sweety?"- sounded a deep voice from next to her ear, and made her jump.
" Easy buttercup, I wouldn't want you to jump out of that pretty skin of yours"- laughed the stranger.
Tina turned around mad as a hatter, just to stare at a perfect chest covered in black leather. She looked higher and higher until the face came in to view. The face that made her feel things she never did before, the face of the new guy.
"So, what's your name buttercup?"-he asked wiggling his eyebrows.
"Definately not buttercup!"- she smarted back, while first time in her life she felt her face go red because of a boy.
"Mind to tell me what it is then? BUTTERCUP?"- he smirked.
"Her name is Tina, and I am Trish, hi"- Trish poked her head out of the toilet finally.
"Tina... Buttercup suits you better... "- he smiled, kind of ignoring Trish.
" And douchebag suits YOU better as I can see"- huffed Tina and stormed away, pulling Trish after herself.
" What an ass"- she huffed silently, still blushing, while rubbing her chest to calm her thundering heart.
Wednesdays have always been Tina's favourite during school period. She had double gym class in the morning and literature in the afternoon, which were her favourites. She usually outran everyone in her group, which made her feel proud.
She was skipping towards the building with happyness filling out every pore of her skin, until she bumped into a leather covered broad shoulder right after a corner.
"Can't you see where you are going!"- snapped the leather jacket at her, as the poor victim felt the impact and turned around.
Tate... A very annoyed Tate..
His expression changed as soon as he discovered who bumped into his back.
" Hey, Buttercup! I know I am attractive and all, but you really don't have to jump on me to swipe me off my feet, you know.."- he wiggled his eyebrows at her with a cheeky smile plastered on his face.
"Ugh... Don't be so full of yourself! You aren't attractive, just invisible!"- she smarted back quickly, while crossing her arms in front of her chest.
"Ouch.. My poor bleeding heart"- he rubbed his chest with his hand acting hurt.
" How could you say that to your future lover, Buttercup? You have to kiss me now to ease this terrible pain you caused"- he took a step towards her, reaching out with both arms.
" Not even in your wildest dreams, Douchebag!"- she shouted and ran into the locker room.
Tina found it difficult to calm her racing heart on the other side of the door. She felt her face heated up again, and her palm was sweating. She thanked the mighty God that noone else was in the room yet, but she knew it is not going to remain that way for long.
She rushed into the toilet, to wash her face, then once she felt a bit better, she went back and got into her gym clothes. Trish didn't notice that something was off when they met, but Tina knew she will catch her nervousness eventually.
By the time the double class was over, she nearly forgot the scene with Tate, and by lunch time, she was laughing with her friends like nothing happened. Then Tate appeared in the doorway, seemingly searching for someone. She wiggled in her seat nervously, avoiding to look at him.
"Hey guys, do you have one more space at your table by any chance?"- she heard his voice from next to her ear. Great.. He wanted to sit with them. She looked up, ready to answer, but Caleb was faster.
" Sure dude! You were awesome on chemistry today!"- he hi fived Tate.
He seemed to not notice her at all, and started chatting with the guys. Trish poked her side whispering to her about him being weird but hot. She was about to turn to her to disagree, when she caught him looking at her. She fixed her eyes on his face, expecting a comment or something, but he just winked at her and went back to his conversation with Caleb.
Her face got red again and she jumped up and ran out of the cantine as if her hear was on fire. Trish caught up with her just as she opened the toilet door.
" Hey, what's up with you? Why did you run off like that??"- she asked as she grabbed her shoulder to turn her around.
"I think I like him"- Tina whispered, not believing what did just come out of her mouth.
